News Round Up 2016

AK just keeps getting better. One more restaurant and I think it's perfect.

would be great if they replicated the Explorer's Club that Hong Kong Disney has

Wasn't that originally a part of the very first concept art we got of Shanghai? Wasn't it replaced with the Marvel/Star Wars exhibition or something like that?

Yet TSM at DHS (with 1/4 the rides?) average wait time is about 15 minutes, and TSM at DCA is 35 to 40 minutes.

15 minutes? Perhaps with the third track added. On the busiest days wait times could reach up to 90 minutes or more. Same will probably happen with Soarin. Once it opens its third theater in Epcot, it will have similar waits to DCA.

I believe it was part of the original plans but where toy story is situated in those photos is not where marvel and Star Wars went. Phase 2 possibly could bring a finished toy story playland since it seems they have infrastructure for it already there.

A permit was filed for room refurbishment at Pop Century. The permit expires in December 2017.

Any rumblings of when they'll start? Staying there for wine and dine and the week after.

Well the average, with 80% as no wait FP and 20% at 75 minutes.

Not sure with the 3rd track. Sounds like at least one track, maybe 2 will be 100% no wait.

No wait? From the merge point it can sometimes be as much as 10-15 minutes. That's not counting the possibility of a backup before the merge point. Soarin' is even worse. It is probably the longest FP wait of any ride in WDW. Or maybe it just feels that way because you don't move at all standing in that long lonely hallways so close to the preshow, which also seems like it takes an eternity to start once they start filling it up. Give me the DCA waits for TSMM any day. There is no way I would ever wait standby for TSMM (pre-3rd track) in DHS other than at RD, which means I only ride it once. Sometimes not at all. But honestly, it's a good enough ride that I'd like to ride it 2 or 3 times. That's actually possible in California without spending more than 20 minutes in line. Hopefully we get closer to that in Florida, or enough FP capacity becomes available for additional same day FPs once TSL opens.

You can have your guaranteed 35 minute wait at TSM in DCA if you want ( we actually would never wait that long for TSM), I will take my FP at TSM DHS (and RD no wait as well if we want) -no worries. A 3rd track may offer new choices as well-we will see.

Regardless, simply saying the wait for TSM at WDW is 75 minutes is misleading, esp for 80% of the riders. And having no FP at TSM at DHS will not be 35 minutes, but much higher because of fewer attractions.

You are right. I thought you were talking about the post-third track standby. It still has one of the longest FP waits at WDW, but I'm sure the third track will make it much better. Soarin would be a better ride to compare, in any case. It has FP both in Florida and California.

Eh... I don't know. As I always say with these things, there's always two sides of the story.
