News Round Up 2016

I like midway...it's a solid mainstream attraction.

But with proper planning and operation it should be a 30-45 minute wait type ride. It should never be 75-90. The realities of the system even with popular IP don't warrant that in Disney tradition.
FP is the reason it is that way. TSMM was not designed for FP.

Rumor

2 major Shanghai attractions are having problems during trial ops and may not be ready for opening day.

I think I can guess at least one of those, The roaring rapids...

One question for those that actually go to Universal - are crowd levels becoming a problem there? There's been some pretty significant increases in attendance in those parks in the last 5 years, and I know these new offerings, but in many cases they replaced existing rides. Is Universal being able to handle the influx of people?

I had never been to Universal before WWOHP. We also always get Express Pass. However, I would say that there are definitely times when you can get on rides with 10 minute or less wait earlier in the day, especially if it's the park without early entry. The Forbidden Journey and Gringott's seemed to have less waits this March than March 2015. However, they have some rides that can get horrible waits, ie WWOHP, Spider Man, Minions. So, they haven't dispersed crowds as well as WDW, so not all rides get bad waits. But that may be a good thing. Except for WWOHP, I haven't felt that the park area itself felt too crowded, and we went the week before the week of Good Friday. They also handle the crowds at the popular rides well at park opening. They seem more organized than WDW sometimes, but then others they feel more inept:confused3

Yes that's one of the reasons too but FP jacks up the wait even more.

Are you talking an overall average wait time (per rider)? Or with 80% at basically no wait.

Universal studios with a 16% increase. One surprise to me is somehow Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea both see a decrease?

I've never understand why there is such a huge gap between DL and DCA. It's so much bigger than the gap between the Florida parks, yet it is RIGHT there, a 120 second walk away. I'd also argue it's a better, more complete park than any of the 3 in Florida at the moment. It certainly has more E tickets than any of those parks. Is it due to the locals? The locals obviously have access to both parks, but I guess if I lived there I would still be more likely to visit DL more often, whereas WDW has a lot of one timers or once a year people who are going to do all 4 parks every time.
