News Round Up 2016

gotta admit I never got the point of them ... like trading money for money? Well, beyond keeping some as a souvenir. I feel the same way about Gringott Bucks or whatever they are called as well

(fully realize this is just me and others love it, just never did anything for me)
It was more of a souvenir type thing.

I think joe rhode, maybe it was somebody else, said that once avatar opened they would fix the yeti.
Disney or anyone with Disney has never said they will do it when avatar opens that was just speculation. Joe Rohde has gone on record saying he will fix it though.

here's the thing about budget cuts. If they really wanted to cut the budgets they would go back to opperating each park six days a week especially in the off season. at wdw they could close each park a differnet day so at least three parks are open and the same in california. they could close DL one day a week and DCA another that would save tons of money.
They wouldn't do that though because people would complain and there is a potential of lost revenue there.

I just received a Disney parks magazine and it has a RoL article. Reading it now- another piece of concept art in it. Seems they would've put a jungle book article since this is the summer 2016 issue. I'm going to see if there's any info in it.

'The show, which opens summer this year,'
Okay. It's not a date, but if this came out before the delay announcement(my mail is slow.), this might mean RoL isn't as far off as we thought and jungle book might have a shorter run than expected.

Articles are written and magazines published a month or months in advance. Not all, but something like Disney Parks magazine would be. So odds are it was written/printed way before the delay was announced

Urgh- well, just maybe...there's a chance they might have reworked the article so they didn't give guests false info.

I wouldn't expect a date in something like that. I've heard anywhere from July 2 to September.

I don't think they would want to touch that can of worms. Can you imagine the outrage? With the way some people flip out, even over the small stuff, I can't see how this would go over well.

Count me as one of the people who flip out over the small stuff. Personally, I would much rather have all those small things they cut, and have them only run the parks 6 days a week. Maybe have MK open all 7, or even Epcot, and just close the other two. Heck, close DHS twice a week and just extend the hours the other days. Yeah, it will make the other 3 parks a little more crowded those days, but just plan a Disney Springs or Water Park day those days. Of all the things they've done to piss me off over the years, this would upset me the least.

not to shift focus back to Disco Yeti, but... would taking down part of the ride be required to fix him, during the next major refurb? Also we wouldn't be seeing that refurb until Avatar opens of course.

I've heard that they actually could take the yeti out without shutting down the ride.

Interesting. I've ridden the ride many times with him working hard and now him hardly working and the overall experience doesn't seem to change that much for me.

I never got to experience him working but I've always heard it was quite something. Interesting you don't see much of a change.

I rode it once with working yeti and was really cool when he would reach out at you. Still a great ride but know g "what was" it does feel a little less now
