Boardwalk really wasn't bad; just the one restaurant and the one storefront are closed. We had one of our best Disney meals at Trattoria al Forno (short rib pasta- I highly recommend!)and got dessert to go from the bakery. All the carts and walk up windows are still open, too. The kids got their cotton candy and we watched a street performer (magician) for a bit. I'm glad we went! Two things: I will be at WDW next week at the Boardwalk, it stinks that it is all under construction. Also, I don't mind seeing themed drinks in the parks.
Yes it's still a thing. Haven't heard much of anything since it was announced.Just out of curiosity, how's the new sports complex coming along? Is that still a thing?

Did they say in the announcement when it would be completed? There hasn't been any work done yet. No visible clearing.

I think it's a little to early to say whether this is going to be a success for Disney or not. At this short notice, most people already have their plans in place, and probably aren't looking to unexpectedly add another ~$500 to their vacation costs. If Disney stick with this long enough that people begin to factor it into their vacation plans, then it has a better chance of hitting whatever Disney's internal goal is.
Personally, it's not for me, and I resent being shuffled out of a park early, when I've paid a flat rate ticket with an expectation of a night show, because Disney want to double dip on gate take. Even I'll admit though, if there's an issue with the concept or execution of this program, the $150 probably isn't it.
Don't hesitate to share anything interesting about your trip here!At the World now. Arrived Wednesday afternoon and headed straight to Epcot. Hit AK Thursday and MK yesterday. Should I see anything of note, I'll share. Headed back to Epcot today, DD loves it! Not bothering with DHS this trip. APs run out Sunday and we're not renewing...![]()
Maybe they think they're Animal Kingdom lol. That's interesting I've never looked at that. I wonder why both parks would close so early on a Saturday.A little perspective is in order I guess. With all the angst and anger thrown at Disney, my Twitter feed pops up with a Universal Orlando post - park hours are 8-6 today... Wait what?
Go and check and yes - 8-6 for both parks. IoA is only open at the latest 7pm all week. That is insane. Pay Disney ticket prices. Pay to stay in an onsite hotel. And on a Saturday you are told to leave the parks before its dark.
Maybe some of the frustration needs to be directed to Disney competitors who are showing you can charge $100+/day and close 3-4 hours earlier!!!

Isn't that normal hours for them? I've been there on 3 different trips and their latest closing time was always 6pm.
That still surprises me I feel like they should be closing at 9pm or 10pm most nights and maybe even later on busier nights. I guess I've never paid attention to their operating hours. Not during heavy crowd times. However, they usually close by 8 or 9pm even then, like Spring Break. Except Summer, they seem to be open until 10pm.
