News: Pixar Play Parade dining package

Yep, we’ve had front row seats even AFTER the parade had started! I get that there will be less seating at DL than there was at DCA but this isn’t a favorite parade of ours. I doubt we will even watch it. We only watched it in DCA if we happened to run into it while on our way somewhere or if we were killing time waiting on our friends to get off a ride. We absolutely love Soundsational and really like PTN as well. I’m really sad Soundsational is gone but excited that it will be easier to see PTN!
Rumor is that Pixar Parade is just a filler while they create a new parade repurposing the soundsational floats. Maybe there will be a fun new parade next summer.

We are usually there late Oct/Nov, and what I’m afraid is going to happen that is Halloween moves to DCA, and then PTN isn’t around during the holidays :( which is super annoying because PTN is only their most popular parade.

Anything is possible. I was really hoping MSEP would hang around for a full year so those of us traveling in late in the year could see it. But nope. They didn't even run the Christmas parade at night like they have in years past. And that parade is meant to run at night.

I really think Disney has just figured out how much they can save with less parade running. They seem to be cutting back where possible on both coasts.

Wel

Well, that’s a bummer. I was hoping it would be back after the Pixar Fest!

I've actually never seen PTN, so I'm excited about that one!
Oh, then you definitely need to put your effort there. We've seen PTN several times and it really is quite good. I'm just trying not to get my hopes up for this year until I know if Disney is going to cheap out and stop running it again.

heaven forbid they run a parade like that during the "off-season"

I’m right there with you! I’m glad they finally announced an end date for Pixar Fest, but now it’s thrown up a lot more questions for us. We arrive September 7th, and I’m wondering when the parades and fireworks will finish... we’d love to see PTN and Together Forever. While we’ve seen PPP many times, our kids are very young so it’s always a winner.

I’m totally speculating but I feel like ending Pixar Fest on the 3rd means Halloween may have a chance of starting on Friday the 7th.

So many questions!

This is the most ridiculous thing.

This daytime parade isn't even that good. And then to have special "preferred viewing areas" for it? Come on.

People, PLEASE don't book this. Vote with your wallet so they will stop this nonsense.

You can get THREE PIECES of Plaza Inn chicken with two sides and a biscuit for $17. It's enough for 2 people.

If the large AP base can resist the urge to camp out for hours to get a good viewing spot, the occasional vacationers won't be tempted to overpay for this. Hopefully everyone has seen it enough already and won't be tempted to do either.

I'm sure you can still get a good seat - thing is people are willing to pay for a good seat plus they don't want to spend valuable park time waiting to secure a good seat. I don't think you've been able to just walk up and get a front row seat for any parade in many years. Not unless you've left a blanket down on the sidewalk to secure your spot - something I'm grateful they've stopped allowing!
I've never paid for a parade or WOC/F! but I am this time around, it's too convenient and if I'm going to eat at that restaurant why not!?

Actually, the last two times we did the parade at DCA, we walked up after it had started and found large gaps where my kids could sit and we could be right behind them. That's why I'm wondering why anyone would pay for this seat. A seat at F! would be worth it since they've made non-dining-plan FP tickets standing room on the very far sides....though I'll never pay it in protest. But for this parade that it seemed no one wanted to watch just a year or two ago, it seems like a waste of dough to do it.

Yep, my husband and I shared it when we went. Absolutely delicious and a ton of food. :mickeybar

You can even ask for all white meat and they will give you 2 breast portions instead of breast, leg, thigh. You get WAY more meat that way and there is no upcharge .

I prefer dark meat, so I was fine with the standard. :) Even the white meat was great though. It's definitely the best fried chicken I ever had.
