I got an interesting e-mail today. It was "personalized" and referenced my upcoming arrival at OKW. It is primarily a sales piece for SSR but it also gives the dates and times of the weekly update meetings and a reminder about the "Perks" page at check-in.

Not earth-shattering but it's another attempt at trying to be a little more interactive with the membership.

FYI the meetings are:

• Tuesdays 8:00 am at Disney's Old Key West Resort, Community Hall
• Thursdays 8:00 am at Disney's BoardWalk Villas, Community Hall

The update meeting times are not news, but having them communicate like this is!

Doc has indicated that the former DI Cinema is still in place at SSR, but did not know what it might be used for in the future. Do you think there is a possibility of the meetings being moved there or another added to attract DVC owners to visit SSR and they could use the cinema for the meeting?

We got a personalized letter from the Hilton Head Resort regarding our check in the week of Easter. It included an activity sheet about all activities while we were there and also a paper detailing the Easter Dinner you can order to your villa thru the resort. It was a really nice touch to get this letter welcoming us to HH for Easter week.

We check in at OKW on Saturday and also got the personal e-mail that PamOKW received. I was surprised indeed! While a nice touch, I hope it is not considered one of the "big" improvements for DVC that has been alluded to.

I'm sure they'll find somewhere at SSR to hold weekly "member meetings". They are also sales pitches and you can bet DC wants to sell all the SSR that they can!

Unfortunately, I'm not actually going to WDW this weekend but there is a reservation in my name.

we are going to vb bcv & poly at easter time, i havent received any email from dvc yet but i did receive a very nice snail mail package from the poly, welcoming us back and what is going on in wdw at the time we will be there, so my guess, even wdw, dvc, and everyone is sending out info where you have ressies this must be a new thing that they are trying to make your vacation more magical

I remember receiving the e-mail AFTER my last trip to VWL now that I read this post. I have to admit, the info would have been better suited if they sent it to me prior to my check in date though the e-mail had the correct dates for my trip. I checked into VWL on 30 Nov and the e-mail didn't arrive into my account until 2 Dec. I hope they have fixed this so that now you will receive the e-mail prior to your check in so it can be used.
