Anyone have any details from the 2:00 meeting today?
The suspense is killing me! :hourglass

No news from the 2:00 meeting... but I am about 15 minutes away from Woodfield Mall right now... going to the 7:00 event!!! I'll update ASAP.

We will be there on Sunday. I was hoping for a BLT announcement when I first heard about the event last month...........but I don't think so. It will be interesting to hear the first "reports"come in....looking forward to it!!!!

Looks like I'm the first one back, so here's what I took down:

Incentives for 160 point AKV buy-in:
$8 per point discount (off of $104)

$1280 Disney gift card (which btw CAN be applied to your DVC down payment)

$500 Disney Visa credit

and EITHER - 5 nights at AKV Kidani Village 1 bedroom/Savannah view, bookin available in May 2009
OR
5 nights at Saratoga Springs (up to Magic Season)

Fastpasses

Incentives for 210 points:
$8 per point discount

4 night Disney cruise on The Wonder

$1000 Visa g.c.

Incentives for 350 points:
$8 per point discount

May choose one of select Adventure by Disney trips (sorry i didn't write these down, but there were definitely some good ones on the list!)

$1000 Visa g.c.

VIP guest for the Magnificent Mile Festival of Lights Parade at Xmastime, including riding on a Disney double decker bus IN the parade itself, and overnight accomodations at the Chicago Whitehall Hotel

500 point incentives:
The same as the 350 points, except you can pick ANY of the Adventures By Disney trips. Including the brand new ones for 2009.

Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto all were there. My kids basically got a private playdate with Donald, Goofy and Pluto. I don't know why all the kids left the play area while they were all still there!

They did give away the trip to WDW along with some other interesting things (a piece of African art from the AKL, a sculpture of a giraffe, a Mr. Potato Head play set + a Disney g.c.) However I noticed one odd thing. The box they were drawing from for the little prizes WAS NOT the same box that they drew from for the big WDW trip prize. There was a clear plastic one on stage for the whole presentation and that's the one they drew from for the potatohead, art, etc. Then the legal rep came out at the very end with a box shaped that looked like a footlocker or something, and that's the one they drew from for the big prize. I personally only filled out 1 entry form on the way in, so I am a little upset that not everyone was entered into the trip drawing which, let's face it, was the big reason I went.

They showed a piece on the new Toy Story musical that's playing on the Disney cruise ship.

Not a word abt BLT (no surprise there).

We were offered appetizers and water. And cupcakes at the very end.

Oh, and also they had us all waiting outside for quite awhile in the oppressive heat before the whole thing started. I was not a fan of that. There's plenty of room inside The Improv. I would think they could have planned that much better since they knew it would be so hot outside.

Unless I'm missing something, that's actually LESS than what is being offered to the general public right now.

The $8 per point / $1280 credit is pretty standard. And the $500 promotion is available to all.

The only difference is the 5-night stay. The offer to the general public is 160 developer's points at SSR or Interval. The AKV 1B Savanna view is only worth a maximum of 150 points up to Magic season. I'm assuming the 5 nights are a Sunday - Thursday. If that's not the case then perhaps this is a little better.

They didn't mention anything specific abt which days of the week you had to stay, only that it was only up to Magic Season. But they might be withholding that info from the presentation.

I'm here right now... just the beginning of the presentation!!!
But if that's the only promotion.... that will be pretty disappointing... we just got that promotion last month!!!
We'll just have to wait and see... I'll check back in a little bit...

Right now... the assistant curator (sp?) of AKV - Kidani Village animals being shown on slide show now!!!

That is strange. I was hoing for some incentive to add on smaller point increments since I already have 210pts and maybe they could entice me into purchasing 25 more.
Also, maybe the drawing for the trip was based on the registration RSVP that we had to fill out to attend?? (just a thought:confused3 )
I will be there tomorrow at 11:00am for the current owners presentation.
I report back afterward too.

Thanks for the report!

Not much enticing me there.......doubt if we'll even go this wknd. now.

I'm willing to take my chances on NOT winning a WDW trip.

And.......water and snacks??!!! Not even a soft drink or glass of wine like the last presentation at the Improv? Seems a little cheapy...

What's SO great about the current members session? I, for one, will not add on the minimum 160 at AKV for the incentives. I will not do anything until/unless BLT is announced. JMHO though.

most recent news... $1000 gift card instead of $500 that has been offered recently and you can use the "developer points" (they're not calling it developer points) at animal kingdom -kidani village or at Saratoga Springs. Other than that, the promotion is the same.
The 1000 gift card starts at 160 points.

for 210 point add-on, you can get a 4 night cruise, ocean view veranda stateroom for 2 adults, plus $1000 gift card. oh, yea... and the $8 off per point.

Add-on for 350 points... just coming through now...
$1000 gift card
$8 off
Adventures by disney trip for 2 adults at any of the following locations:
american mid-atlantic
arizona & utah
austria & czech
britixh columbia
california
costa rica
france
germany
southern italy
wyoming

plus VIP seats for the magnificent mile lights festival (on the float in the middle of the parade) only 20 families can fit on this double decker bus... plus
one night stay at the whitehall hotel in chicago

500 points is the 350 point level plus...
ok... you can pick any adventures by disney trip... not limited to list above.

They keep saying that these are the best promotions ever, but I'm not so sure that they're good enough!!!

ok... they're going to give the trip away !!!! bye for now!!!

These incentives sound wonderful! We got an ice cream cone when we purchased. That was at the old Commerdere House at OKW. I guess I should be happy with $60 points plus all the enjoyment of WDW for the last 13 years.

I wish we'd have been smart enough to purchase back then in which case I would have just been happy with the ice cream, $60 per pt., etc. Hindsight being 20/20 of course. Prices now are nearly double and if you're anything like us, the incentives ought to be good in this economy AND when awaiting a BLT announcement! ;)

Is there any word on smaller ad-ons (50 pt.)?

We'll be there tomorrow evening and will report any interesting news (if it's not all covered by then).

I was reading this to mean that there is an $8 per point discount, PLUS a $1280 Disney gift card, PLUS a $500 Disney Visa credit, PLUS the 5 nights at either Kidani or SSR, PLUS Fastpasses.

Is that right? Or is the $8 per point discount in the form of a $1280 Disney gift card...which is basically what they are already offering now?

Also, someone else mentioned a $1000 gift card with a 160-point contract. Can anyone confirm whether it's $500 or $1000?

And, does this mean NO incentives for anything less than 160 points?

Thanks to everyone for reporting back! :)

I would like to know too! Do you get the $8.00 off pp plus the $1280 gift card to apply toward down payment? If so, then its like getting $16.00 off pp or am I wrong? In addition, if I read the one of the PP right, its still $500 disney visa for 160 point buy in and then it goes to $1000 with a buy-in of 210 points or more?

I took it to mean the $8 discount PLUS $1280 bc he specifically said that the $1280 can be applied to the downpayment. And yes, plus the $500 visa gc, 5 nights and Fastpasses.

$500 Visa gift card for 160 pt purchase, and $1000 Visa gc for 210, 350 and 500 pt purchases.

I asked abt addons for current DVC members and she wouldn't answer me directly. She just signed my husband up for tomorrows DVC owner presentation tomorrow. I think there will definitely be addon incentives as well since she didn't want to talk abt it today.

It may be different for new purchases vs add-ons... but they were very clear tonight at the 7:30 event...

the $8 off per point can be applied towards the down payment... a savings of 1280... not both.

It is $1000 gift card for all add-ons starting at 160 points...

I was actually typing my long post during the event.... I am positive that is what was offered.
