News Flash for those going in summer..

We were on the monorail this afternoon and someone was complaining about the heat and humidity. :confused3
Yeah -- heat and humidity in central FL in the summer. Who wudda have thunk it? :rotfl2:
Actually I feel it is better here than the midwest, Usually we have a a breeze. In the midwest the air is heavy, humid, and it is hot. There, ANY breeze feels good, and they don't come often.
Wear baggy, cotton clothing. It makes the FL summer weather much more tolerable.

So, what I hear you saying is that it is "hot" and "crowded" in the summer at Walt Disney World? Is that right? :rotfl:

Thanks for the heads-up. Now I know to bring my refillable mug from home and to visit Stormalong Bay to help stay cool. :woohoo:

You know, when you work in that heat in the outdoors at Bliz. Beach each day all day, you do get used to it!! Just like you get used to Minnesota winters when you experience them each year. To me, a humid sauna is what I think of when I think WDW. The tropical smell is just home to me after a summer living there and numerous trips. We went in Dec. this year and it was anice change weather wise, but still didn't feel the same.

I hold on to those sauna hot Florida days so I have a memory to warm me when there is three feet of snow outside and it is -10 below...or worse!

I didn't remember the heat/humidity being all that bad when we went in 1999, But, I was looking at the pictures from it and my hair says HOT&HUMID!
If we just keep telling everyone that it is UNBEARABLE :sunny: , we could lighten the crowds for the rest of us! :thumbsup2 Of course that "free" dining will foil those plans. :p

Hey wait ... are you being ironical?

I think the news flash should emphasize that it's not only hot, it's super hot! Unbelievably hot. Hot to the point of not being able to breathe. ;)

I think some expect it to be hot, but they just don't understand HOW hot hot is in Orlando in summer.

It's REALLY hot. Stifling, suffocating, intense heat.

But I love it, so I continue to go in summer. :sunny:

OMG I leave in 12 hours and can't deal with the Heat

Do you think Disney will provide me with a CM to Fan me all day long .

After all I'm spending all this money to go .

And if they can make it Snow in DEC why not June this week to cool everything down.Imagine the sweats ,hats and gloves they could sell no one would see it coming.

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

And Fransisco Franco is still dead.

It was hot when I was there last August, but not crowded

I just got back yesterday, was there Sunday to Friday. First time going in the summer. I took my niece and my brother did not want her to miss school. I expected the worst and it was not bad at all! It was hot but not unbearable. We bought a water bottle fan at Walmart for under $5, better than the $18 ones at the parks. It rained for a short time twice - Monday evening and Wednesday afternoon. We bought drinks with our snack credits on the dining plan. We managed the crowds by using fastpasses. The longest line we stood in was about 25 minutes for The Land one morning (after we got our Soarin' fastpass) and Expedition Everest around 7:00 on Wednesday night (fastpasses gone). On Thursday afternoon, Soarin' had a 110 minute wait when we did our fastpass ride. The key is to get fastpasses for the popular attractions and do the less popular ones in between. Get the most popular attraction first thing in the morning (Space Mt, Soarin, etc). Magic Kingdom was not bad yesterday (Friday). Space Mt only had about a 10-15 minute wait in the morning, we then did Big Thunder twice in about 20-25 minutes.

It is hot , humid and muggy here too in the Summer. so, I'd rather be in a hot WDW than a Hot PA for a few weeks. No work, mutliple swimming pools to choose from, two great water parks. Fantastic fireworks, super attraictions, Dole whips, great dining, adorable characters.

The list goes on and on and on.

So, lets review the facts:

WDW is hot and crowded during the Summer. With longer operating hours, more cars, trucks, boats and trains added to that have the option to add them. Multiple Spectromagic parades nightly, TWO Fantasmic shows a night to choose from, same great Disney entertainment and characters, hot and humid weather is found at other non-Disney places.

Our family says, "YES, let's go to WDW in the Summer and everyone who is afraid of a little heat or crowd, please stay home!".

:dance3:

Been there done that doing it again (leaving in 3 1/2 hours for the plane).
