News about Walt Disney World Pin Trading

I posted this in the Resort board because it had to do with the All Star Sports, Contemporary & Pop Century, however I thought I post it here for anyone who is just getting into pin trading, or has done it in the past while at WDW.

As of August 2006, WDW will no longer host regularly scheduled Mickey's Pin Trading Nights at the Walt Disney World® Resort.
The final activities are scheduled for the following dates:

Thursday, July 27, 2006 - Disney's All-Star Sports Resort from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Friday, July 28, 2006 - Disney's Contemporary Resort from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Saturday, August 5, 2006 - Disney's Pop Century Resort from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

WDW thanks the many Guests who have continually attended and traded pins at these activities. All Guests are invited to continue trading with Cast Members throughout the Walt Disney World® Resort.

As Disney celebrates the Year of a Million Dreams this fall, look for new and exciting Disney Pin Trading opportunities at Disney Parks and Resorts.

And if you think about it -- Contemp is going through renovations like crazy right now. They may have decided this is as good of time as any to change things, including PTN (Pin Trading Night).

You maybe right about that, however they were doing the renovations when I was there last December & PTN was going on like always. Also I don't see how getting rid of PTN at All Stars & Pop would help? In the past they have cancelled PTN at the Board Walk & Caribbean Beach, which did not effect other PTN, so to me saying it was the Contemporary renovation does not make sense.

But the PTN area at the Contemp is up for rehab soon, I think.
There isn't much room anywhere else.
The times I have gone to PTN was to meet people. And sometimes there are not that many people.
I think they need to do something to peek interest for others besides locals.

The only other place in the Contemporary I think where they could have had PTN to is in one of the ball rooms on the 2nd floor. They seem big enough for a lot of people & to me that would have been a good temporary location. However we can't change the news & we will just have to live with it.
