News about Thom's stepmom's mother *small update*

I didn't tell you guys but his stepmom's mother died last Sunday. The man that she married (against the wishes of her children) killed (he was convicted of manslaughter) his first wife and is believed to have killed his second wife. Since the death on Sunday, Thom's stepmother's family has gotten anonymous phone calls from three people (2 women and 1 man) saying that Marion (her husband) had been bragging about poisoning her with fertilizer. He also had some very odd habits (dressing in women's clothing comes to mind.) The FBI is now investigating him. Please keep Thom's stepmother and that whole family in your prayers (I may not like Thom very much, but his stepmother is a wonderful woman and so was her mother.)

Thom told me last night that the FBI has said that his step-grandmother's body will have to be exhumed because instead of performing an autopsy, the morgue just assumed that she died of a heart attack (she did have some heart problems). The last time she was in the hospital for her heart, her children wanted some tests performed on her because the frequency of the problems she was having with her heart made no sense with the changes she had made in her diet and lifestyle. Her husband refused to allow the doctors to perform the tests they wanted.

Jason, the bad part is that I knew Thom's dad had been married 7 times because of extramarital affairs, had had drug problems, and is an alcoholic (doesn't drink as much anymore.) I also knew Thom was a lot like his dad. Yet, I believed Thom when he said that that because of that, he was determined to never cheat on his wife or get a divorce. I was SO naive (but then again, I was also only 19.) BUT his stepmother is an absolutely terrific woman.

How did the FBI get involved?

They called the police after they got the three phone calls saying that her husband had been bragging about poisoning her with fertilizer. I guess the local police department (she lived down in South Carolina) felt that there was enough evidence to get the FBI involved.
