News about fast passes?

I hope they don't take away the fp at disneyworld. It would be a shame if they did. Sometimes it is nice to get a ticket and sit for a while instead of standing in a long line. So many people get burned out just standing in those long lines.

We were also at WDW last week and constantly saw those little red cards.
They are not new they have been used for years to gauge wait times in stand by lines. They are red now they used to be white. That is why they stand out.

When it was ho this past August, the fast passes allowed us to cool off to bear the heat better. :rotfl:
I really, really hope they don't eliminate them.

My DH read somewhere that they were planning to eliminate them because it wasn't working very well. Apparently they say it makes the regular line move slower. Well...maybe those people should have gotten a fastpass! It also said that the person who came up the idea for the Fastpass was fired. Not sure if any of this is true, but it would be too bad if they did eliminate them. We love it, it always works out well for us.

I am the OP of the original thread where this post came up. My post was about Universal not having any "express pass" machines operating for their attractions with 30-60 minute waits for all rides. I went to GR to find out why the machines were not operating. I was only told that they have been down for about a month now, but they gave no reason. I then asked for a refund because waiting on 30-60 minute lines with 2 young kids was not something I wanted to do. I told them I would have never entered the park if I knew that the express pass machines were not operating and the wait times were 30-60 minutes +. They were very apologetic, gave me the refund (and parking too) and we left.

Needless to say, I was flamed on the Universal Board. I guess I ruffled some feathers because I got a refund and I wasn't willing to stand on 30-60 minute lines. :confused3

In any event, it is my opinion that Universal is heading down the same path as Six Flags. If you want Fastpass, express pass, etc.... YOU PAY EXTRA FOR IT (or with USO, stay on-site too).
