My family will be going to Disneyland in March 2006. I have already reserved a two bedroom villa with Marriott Newport Coast Villas which sleeps 6 people, two bathrooms, a full kithchen, dining room for six and a washer and dryer in the room. Furthermore, I have reserved a mini van with Dollar Rental at LAX. My questions are- Has anyone ever used LAX Dollar Rental? and Has anyone ever stayed at the Marriott Newport Coast Villas? Also, we are going to purchase the Southern California Attractions CityPass and buy the Universal Studios Front of the Line Passes. We will be vacationing for seven days and eight nights. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I can help with some info on Newport Coast. We stayed there in June 2003 and had a great time. The room is spacious and nicely decorated. We git 4 adults and 2 kids with no problem. The resort is great with a nice swimming pool, game room, etc. We had a great time there. Our drive to DL was 15-20 minutes.

Everything is nearby, Albertsons, Trader Joes, Cheesecake factory, etc.

If i can help with anything else let me know.

Wow, I'll jump in on this thread too. We'll be staying at Newport Coast Villas this June. Glad to hear that it is only a 20 minute ride to Disneyland, I was thinking that it would be closer to an hour. can you offer any advice on what unit location to request. We'll have 3 kids with us 14, 12, and 10, so close to the pool with out too much traffic from the lobby would be nice. I've never seen a map of the resort layout, but it sure looks like a nice place.
To the original poster, if you want me to check anything out while there, I'd be happy to do so. We are also renting a mini van from dollar, but out of San Diego, always been happy with dollar in the past.

Although your drive may be 15 - 20 minutes, it'll take you an additional 20 -25 minutes from parking garage to inside the front gate. Factor that in if you are meeting anyone inside the park.

Mariott Newport Coast is beautiful. We stayed 2 years ago and are going again in September! Enjoy it!
They have a shuttle that will take you to the beach which is a nice perk

It'll also depend on if you hit traffic or not. I work in Newport Beach and I've never been able to make it to Disneyland in 15 minutes.
