sorry for another post but everyone on here is brilliant wit their views and opinions

we have booked to stay at newport bay in June to late now for changes has anyone on here stayed at this hotel and if so what is your opinion of it - trip advisor has lots and lots of bad reviews and im gettin worried

We stayed there two years ago and my kids loved it. We definitely had breakfast brought to our room each morning because we had heard the breakfast lines for the buffets were bad. Overall, the room was ok. It was a longer walk than the other resorts, but not terrible. I had a kids that were 6, 8, and 10 and they walked it all just fine.

thank you for replying we have booked admiral rooms and are also planning on having breakfast in our room, my children are 5, 4 3 and 21mths will have a buggy but they should enjoy the walk to the parks maybe not the return journey!

We stayed at npb in 2006, there were awful reviews then too, but we had a fabulous stay and it's still one of my favourites, hoping with a good offer we might get to stay there again this summer

We stayed there (Admirals floor) last summer and LOVED it. Breakfast was always fine as AF guests were seated in the Yacht Club although I don't know if this is all year round or only when it's really busy. Despite its bad reviews we've always loved the look of it and it didn't disappoint in any way - the pool was an absolute lifesaver as we were there in that heatwave. Cape Cod buffet was really good too.

I keep meaning to put a review on the hotel FAQ thread (unfortunately real life just keeps getting in the way) and will endeavour to do so as soon as I've lifted the photos from my old computer but there's a favourable review from Rosebug on there - coincidentally it was her room that my DDs were in.

Stayed here for one of our trips....got upgraded to Admirals Floor which was lovely....always love the look of this hotel! We did not find the q's for breakfast too bad....but did use room service 2 of our 4 days! The rooms are spacious and because of the bright decor seem really big...we also had a lovely balcony overlooking the lake which was absolutely lovely too, especially at night! Our girls were 4 and 10 when we visited NPB and they managed the walk we did have a hire push chair for the 4 year old which was a godsend around the parks!

We stayed here a few weeks ago and I was a bit worried after seeing the reviews but we really liked it. The hotel is 5 mins walk from Disney Village, after that is probably another 10 to Disneyland itself so fine for walking. We booked an Admiral's room and we got a top floor which was spacious but I think was a bit bigger than normal as it had a dormer window, which we used as ds' play area and a balcony, overlooking the car park. The decor etc is dated and slightly shabby but the room was clean enough we had no problem with it.

We just went for the normal breakfast, at 7am (ish) most days and it was fairly busy but we had no queueing or waiting. We also went at 10.30 on the last day (were advised by reception not to go between 8 and 9.30) and no queuing at that time, probably similarly busy to the early shift but the food was running out and some people were just wandering around getting in my way - it's more business like at 7, eat and get into the park for 8!

If there's anything specific you're concerned about just ask and I can let you know what our experience was.

good to know it was clean after some reviews i thought i was gona have to pack a bottle of bleach! i know that it does need a refurb but Thats to be expected some reviews made it sound horrendous

having a balcony sounds lovely, mum had said she would like one of these after seeing it in a photograph, but we have requested a connecting room as one of my children is booked into mums room.

we are hoping to use the pool in the late afternoon before dinner to let kids rest from walking, did you use the pool at all?

We stayed here in Oct 2012 and had no problems with it I was worried seeing the trip advisor reviews as well, but our room was always very clean and the breakfast was lovely!

hi sorry to jump in . Wondering how to book rooms big enough for larger familys, I have just booked for October this year and I only had a choice between DLH or DCR I have booked DCR.

You know you must have your own transport to get from DCR to DLP?
SF should have some family rooms too I think. Did you try disneylandparisdirect.com? You can also ring DLP either as I dont know if all the larger rooms can be booked online.

yes we will be driving down so that isn't going to be a problem. Santa fe came up but it brought up no rooms or prices when I clicked it but it went straight through to costings for DLH and DCR. might give them a ring tomorrow

hi we have 3adults 3children and an infant so when booking phoned Disney direct and booked 2rooms and have requested they be interconnecting

We stayed there last month. Got 2 rooms as we have 3 kids, and has interconnecting doors which was a godsend.
To be honest we would go for this rather than family room because you have so much more space.
Each night the kids would go to bed and me and other half would drink wine watching a film on our DVD player. Made for a less stressful time.

With regards to the actual hotel, it was fine. We did have 2 balconies but due to it being -5ish for most of the 5 day trip we didn't appreciate them! Well actually we did *** it kept the wine cool.

The only thing I couldn't get over was lack of communal space at lobby level. We have stayed in the Sequioa Lodge twice before and love the fact that the bar is absolutely massive and there are loads of places for you to sit sow and have a drink whilst watching your kids play with whatever you've just bought in the shop. In NPB there didn't seem to be that space even though the hotel is bigger.

With regards to breakfast I tried twice to book room service to no avail. For some reason the staff couldn't understand that we didn't have a breakfast request door hanger in the room so
couldn't fill it in and pop it on the door.
When we finally did breakfast in the hotel we had a card for 7am. We turned up at 10am and said
sorry!!!
