Hi All,

Apologies if this has been asked earlier, but I've only scanned the rest of the thread.

I've noticed on the DLP website that an Admiral's Floor room comes as standard, but if you change room types you can have what I assume is a "standard" room with a lake view at no extra cost.

If we don't think we'll get the benefits from an Admiral's Floor room (it seems most of these come at an extra cost anyway), would people recommend having a "standard" lake view room over a non-lake view Admiral's Floor room?

All opinions appreciated, thanks! :thumbsup2

If the price is the same I'd opt for the Admirals room over the lake-view standard. Although Admirals room perks seem a bit of a non-event it'll mean you'll get free towel-hire at the pool and the option of room service. Who knows, you may be lucky and end up getting a lake-view Admirals room!

Thanks for this.
I'm pretty sure we'd not use room service and can't you just use towels from your room at the pool?
Still wondering whether we'd get any value from Admiral's vs. a guaranteed lake view...

The dates we're now looking at we can save £50 by not having admiral's or lake view, so may just plump for the basic offering as we won't be in our room much!
Cheeky that, that the automatic setting is for an optional extra really...

In that case I'd save the £50 and go for the standard room too ::yes::

I agree it's very cheeky how they automatically price you up for the more expensive option - I bet a lot of people get caught out.

This is what we did, after taking off the admirals floor room and just chose a normal standard room it took off £120+ off our quote! When you really think about it, I don't think it's worth it so i'm glad we noticed before we booked it :)

Definitely going for the standard having discussed it with our posse (we actually need 3 rooms, so saving £150 in total by doing this).
Just waiting for the green light from the last members of our party, then hoping to get booked this aft :yay:
