Hello,
I never thought this would be a possibility but 1)I recently moved to Florida 2)just got a Pixie Pass 3)Just booked a week long WDW trip for THIS month 4) Staying at Boardwalk villas!!!!
So much to figure out! Luckily I've kept up on all the Genie stuff, watched too many videos, read, made lists, copied plans etc....I'm STILL trying to figure it all out...hoping trial and error will be the best learning tool :crazy2:
I've made all our APR's but only one dining ressie....
I'll have my daughter and 10 mo grandson so we'll be going slow anyway. Just excited to have an AP!!!

We already have Magicbands from a couple years ago. Does the AP on the band (which I linked in MDE) work for parking at the theme parks? I know parking there is free with pass but do they just scan the band or should I go to get a hard plastic card at Guest Services?

Can the hotel Guest Services do this or do I need to go to DS or I could walk to Epcot IG our first afternoon and get one?

Thank you so much!

Excited but also overwhelmed with questions I have. Good problem to have I know!

They’ll scan your band at the parking lot entrance. I usually have my photo ID ready to show as well.

Actually, we usually activate our APs at the DS Ticket Office or GR or at a park GR (Epcot IG GR, usually, since we often stay at BWV) the evening we arrive. The next day, when we drive to the park, DH drives up so that I’m on the side by the parking booth, and I have my AP card and my photo ID ready. I show them both, and sometimes they scan my AP card, sometimes they don’t, and then we’re in!

Congrats on the Pixie Dust Pass. We’ve had it (or weekday select) for a while now and love it. I don’t want to be there when it’s crowded anyway.

When parking we have always had to show our ID along with the pass (MagicBand). My understanding is that the AP cannot be activated at hotel guest services. As tickets are mainly sold ahead of time now it doesn’t take that long to do it at a Guest Relations window at a theme park (before entry) or go to DS. I got my hard plastic card at DS.

The parking is free because it's linked to your DVC reservation. You match that up to your MDE and then the machine or guard scans your band.

Old Magicbands might not work for the in-ride photos, like Snow White.

Oh ok. All good to know! I will have 2 days before starting park visits so I’ll get it activated before. But If I’m NOT parking but taking bus, can I just scan magicband (assuming it’s working) first time at park and have my barcode as backup? Of course I can do ID too just want ropedrop as smooth as possible. I thought when we bought them it said go right to tapstile (my daughter who is also resident will be joining us a couple days later and it might be tighter to get her to GR early).
Thanks! So excited for AP after visiting WDW 26 years!!
