Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

Totally... I don't see him only being 7lbs, though. I mean, he was 2lbs10ounces three weeks ago. We'll see, though. She obviously does this more than me! :Rotfl:

I still can't believe how close we are. And how much crap we have left to do before he gets here!

Disney Ron- Glad you got things cleared up. Are you packed yet? You must be getting so excited!! :)

:cool1::cool1::cool1:Excited YES!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1: Half packed. I have done most of DS & mine. I won't be able to finish till laundry is done tomorrow and DH does his. DH starts his vacation tomorrow:)

Have fun!! :yay::woohoo:

I'm off to work and then a family dinner to bid farewell to my brother. Him and his girlfriend are going back to Orlando Saturday.. unfortunately for him, it's not to go to Disney World like you!!

He did do my baby exam while I was there too. My BP was 120/73 and since getting pregnant I have gained 3 lbs. I am now 27 weeks and just began my 7th month. Ann
Have a fun trip!

I think I gained 3 pounds last night after eating dinner! :rotfl: Ok, so I've gained 22 which is about the same I did for DS1 at this time. I'm about 3-5 pounds each month too. DS2 is carrying so low people keep asking me if I'm almost ready to have that baby. I'm hoping he will occupy the top half in the next few weeks so I look a little more round instead of lopsided.

I don't know why but I feel like DS is stuck on something in there. His movements are so jerky instead of smooth. Is that silly? Does anyone else have that? There's one spot he favors in the middle of the night right by my hip bone but it just feels like shaking. Dr. Diet Coke said everything should be fine, he's just rubbing something. Hmmm...

I satill occasionally get the crackly ear...I think it's just a pregnancy thing for me.

And as for late Drs...express your frustration to them, not the nurses/receptionists. My mom is a nurse for 2 dr offices and believe me 9 times out of 10 the nurses are just as upset/frustrated with the Drs as you are. Late Drs mean they leave late.

At my mom's office they try to schedule fewer patients for the slow Drs as much as they can get away with, but the Drs usually have some sort of number they like to see per day, so it isn't easy.

So we find out the sex tomorrow hopefully!! I saw my friend that is due the same day as me yesterday and she's having a girl. She has a totally different belly than me-- hers is all down low..it almost looks like a shelf. lol Mine is all round and in most clothes I just look fat. (I willo put up pics eventually! ;))

Isn't it getting exciting and nerve wracking? :lmao:
Here's my thought, I don't know how much I've gained (I REFUSED to look at the scale when they weigh me) but knowing my luck this baby will be like 7 lbs and I have like 50 extra lbs to lose... :headache:
Oh well... I guess we will have to be patient and wait... :rolleyes1

Oooh... have fun on vacation!!! :cheer2:

:dance3: Ooh ooh ooh... I'm excited for you...

Well, I just came back from buying some baby clothes from craigslisting. I spent $32 on 10 onesies, 4 sets of 2 piece sets(I don't know what they're called), 4 gowns, 4 coveralls, 2 halo sleepsacks (supposedly new they cost $25/pc - :scared1:), 1 baby bath robe, and she threw in an avent microwavea sterilizer.
Plus 3 onesies that looked kinda worn out - so I didn't count them.
I thought I did pretty good today.

Now, if only we have our washer/dryer back I could actually wash them to get them ready...

Ohmygoodness, I would be scared too!

Glad you get to peak tomorrow. crossing my fingers they show you the goods.

Mm... donuts...

Thanks! It was scary, thank God for us renting the fetal Doppler or I would be a wreck! I think I have been listening like 328739432969,3947032740327 times a day! :rotfl:

I had this around Christmas. My Dr. told me sneezing, coughing, or straining the wrong way can cause a blood vessel in the cervic to let go. Try not to stress today, I hope the ultrasound gives you a bit of emotional relief.

What a DH donuts help relieve stress too!

I am glad to know that has happened to you and everything is fine! She said it could be because of all the coughing because she didn't find a source of blood.

Have a great time at Disney!!!!!:dance3:

I hope I have a nice u/s tech today who is willing to take a peek at the goods if baby cooperates. I have to go to the hospital for all my scans because of my insurance so it really is the luck of the draw.

I couldn't wait any longer so we have an ultra sound scheduled for Saturday at a 3d place but they do gender determintaion in 2d for $80.00. If we don't find out tonight or if we don't get any pictures (this will be my 4th one and I don't have any photos of my LO) then we will go on Sat but if we find out today we will cancel.

skylarr29- I can't believe you don't have any u/s pictures of your baby. Everytime I have gone, I have left with 3-5 pictures. My last one I asked if he could take one that would be "frame worthy". I got one of her face and she had her mouth open. It is really cute! Well, cute in a skeletor kind of way:thumbsup2

Okay ladies, I have a question for all of you. Have you washed your baby clothes yet? If so, have you used Deft? Is it alright to use unscented tide? I want to start washing some of her things.

For all of you dealing with drywall dust, bless you. I hate that stuff. It gets everywhere. Once you think you are rid of it, there is more. Remember to change your A/C filter. They get clogged really easy with dust.

My last Dr. app't I gained a total of 10 pounds, that was at 6 months. I am sure this month it will be big month since we were at Disney for a week.:scared1:

I wanted to add that we built our house and moved a yr ago in february. That dust will collect in the bottom of the air vents (even where you cant see)-- and your house will remain dusty (a big problem with new construction homes). We have central vac so my hose reaches a pretty good way-- but im pretty sure vacuum hoses do too. Some pay for a person to come out and get all of that sucked out-- but you can do a decent job with a vacuum hose.

I haven't washed mine yet but I think the unscented Tide is ok since that's the only one that has He for our washer. Also TRU/BRU carries those also. Unfortunately we can't find He Dreft :confused3

Ugh... I'm dreading it... I know once they're completely done with everything I will be the one wiping every single surface by hand...

Heck, do what I do... don't look at the scale and tell the doc/nurse/midwife that you don't want to know... :rolleyes1:lmao:

Yeah, I have no idea why I haven't gotten any photos. I didn't ask , I just thought they would give me some. This time I am going to ask for sure.

How far along are you? I wouldn't wash the baby clothes too soon because then they can get dusty etc. if they sit for too long. I am a clean freak and I will probably put all the baby clothes in big ziplocks after they are washed until the baby comes home! (Yes, I am a freak lol)

If I get too hungry I still get sick to my stomach. "Carlos" (which is the name my daughter has chosen for the baby, and we aren't even Spanish! But we aren't keeping the name!) gets mean when I don't feed him! ;)Our friends and family are getting a kick out of it!

That is funny. My neice nicknamed my first born Pluto....which stuck until he got here. She has not yet bestowed the name on this pregnancy.

skylarr29, that is unusual that they haven't printed off any u/s pics to give to you. Maybe they will make up for it and give you the cutest shots ever on your next u/s!

I really thought she would've named him after a cartoon character too but for some reason she has chosen Carlos and the only cartoon character I know of named Carlos is Captain Carlos on the Disney channel. But she contends that she got the idea for the name from our next door neighbor.

I really only complained to the nurse that gave me the eye roll. Plus the receptionist kept peeking over the plants to see if I was still sitting there. I thought, I'm not leaving so don't worry!

That will be exciting to find out. I hope the baby will cooperate and give you a good show. That's the first thing they looked at this time. Hot dog or turtle. We did not with DS1 so 9 months of he/she got tiring! I am carrying totally different with this baby. The first was round and high and "pretty". This one is low and a little lopsided and totally shelf-like. If you post a pic maybe I will too. :rolleyes1

I've washed the baby clothes in store brand baby detergent.... Dreft is soo expensive!! I did find a baby's ALL before that was less expensive, but I can't seem to find it now...

As far as drywall...we built Ellas room off our playroom, so it's been here for a couple months. It doesn't bother me too bad, but it sure is messy!!

I'm due anytime now, I've gained a total of 26. The end of the 8th and beginning of the 9th was about 10lbs of it, I've pretty much stabilized now. I'm just happy I didn't hit 150 yet....150 is where I topped at last yr with DS. My only boy definitely got me 'rounder' than the others....lol

That is funny. My neice nicknamed my first born Pluto....which stuck until he got here. She has not yet bestowed the name on this pregnancy.

When I was preggo with DS, he was called Rocky nearly the entire time. We were REALLY surprised with ourselves that we haven't called him that since! This baby has pretty much been Ella the whole time :)

I have a lot to catch up on and don't have time to read everything now.

Allison Catherine made her grand debut on Wednesday, March 18th at 10:49pm.

I started with contractions on Monday night around 7pm, so needless to say, it was a VERY long labor. and... let's just say that back labor SUCKS!!
I did end up having a shot (nubaine, i think) in the buttocks to help me to relax but other than that, I did it all on my own.

I will post a pic soon.

I had to pop back in to hear from you! Congrats!! She is simply adorable!

Sorry to hear about the back pain/labor...so happy for you and Allison!

Just got back from our ultra sound, baby is healthy and fine but we couldn't find out the gender because the cord was between the legs!

Oh well, we have a 3d scan for Sat so I think I can wait two more days! Hopefully Acorn cooperates then.

Mine are at the hospital, too. My Dr.'s office is actually IN the hospital, so all the services are done by the hospital (my bloodwork, US, even my glucose test) were done outside her office but in the hospital. Must make it convenient for her, too, to be right there if someone were to go into labor!!

Have you asked for pictures? I've asked everytime. The first time I got 5, the second time I only got 1 but he was in a ball and asleep so there just weren't any good shots. It's that great one of his face, though!
