Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

Okay ladies, I went to TRU and BRU yesterday to try and prepare to register. I think I've decided to skip TRU since they have the exact same stuff as BRU. So I'll do BRU and Target.

It's so overwhelming!! This coming from someone whose job it was to help women register at TRU 10 years ago! lol

I don't know how to register for enough without doing too much--or how to balance 2 registries. I would only do BRU, but want someone w/o one near them to have a choice to go somewhere. Ack!

And sooo many choices...my brain wants to explode!
Any advice?

We registered at both of those places as well. Especially because the closest BRU to DH's family was about an hour away. I found that Target had a lot of the same stuff and usually at a better price. We ended up registering for the stuff they had ONLY at BRU at BRU and then the other stuff at Target. (we actually registered for everything at BRU and then went to Target afterwards. Then I was able to delete the stuff off the BRU registry that Target had.) Does that make sense? It took a little time, but it worked out just fine.

Oh and on my front, still nothing is happening. A few random contractions here and there, but nothing STRONG! Argh- this little girl seems like she is never going to come out.

Thanks! Maybe we'll start at Target then. BRU just has soooo much to choose from, but I've always thought it was stupid overpriced--especially since it always seemed like TRU's prices were better. I had forgotten that someone can use a BRU registry at TRU. I hope they made that better since my TRU days, cuz it never worked very well then. You'd have a 12 page registry with 5 items actually available at TRU.

I'm all about saving money...if it weren't for 3 massive showers--we'd totally be using Craigslist.

Hello girls. I am back from Disney. We got in last night. Just wanted to let you know, all is well in the World. The weather was great!!! Castmembers were wonderful. I was surprised that I didn't get tired. That shocked me because I was 24 weeks along and it didn't slow me down.

The BEST thing happend while we were there. My husband got to feel the Natatlie move for the first time. It was really kind of magical. We got her some really cute outfits and a baby Minnie Mouse while we were there.

Looks like things were busy while I was gone...

Lauren- Congrats!!! Your son is beautiful.

Staley- How cool that your twins have different birthdays. Vincent and Jasmine are beautiful. Actually, all your kids are.

ShootingStarMom2- Welcome!!!!

If I missed something, sorry. I have 15 pages to go through.

Welcome back!! So cool that DH got to feel her in WDW. Sounds like a great trip!

You just got me really excited. We will be there 2 weeks from today!:cool1:
I am going to be 27 weeks at the time, I hope I hold out as well as you.
Shhhhh, don't tell my DH but I can't wait to buy some baby stuff for my little Emma too!!!

Glad your DH got to feel Natalie ...that is truly a WDW magical moment he wont forget.

Welcome back,
Ann

Sarah, all the girls around you lately could be a sign of a boy to come.
I know when we were about to find out, I was studying the list to check out my odds!:lmao:

piecey, were all your disney toys from the cereal boxes in a separate bag? All I've accomplished today is a trip to Walmart for groceries, and dd9 got a box of Fruit Loops. So far we only had Pluto and the red car, both in a separate bag on top. She opened this one, and it didn't have a separate bag on top, so we thought we'd gotten ripped off! But she just came in and said she opened the cereal bag, and a Mickey was in there. Just curious as to why some are bagged differently:confused3 .

I thought of that too. But I've pretty much always thought it was a girl...who knows...:confused3 I'll be happy either way...but the list does make it fun to wonder!

I have heard that Target has a very bad and difficult return policy for their registry items. I had a lot of trouble with my wedding registry there and I ended up closing the account and moving to Macy's.

I think I might try Wal Mart and BRU? I have been trying to make a list of things you need for baby. If anyone has a list that would be great.

Yeah...DBF and I were just talking the other night... there is still the possibility that there is some (minor) defect, and it's like we've totally moved beyond that. I guess because the amnio came back negative for downs, turner etc.. then from what they could see, no heart defects, and no cleft lip... I think anything else is minor (although we had become ok with any of it), I think it'll just take us by surprise if there is something wrong.... Can't ever take any of the journey for granted!! I'm just ready for her to be out and the waiting over :goodvibes

I hope your little one is just fine! I hope she comes soon! GL :goodvibes

Good luck Melissa finding that perfect name!
Ann

Thanks! I think we are narrowing it down.

For boy I think he will be Owen and for a girl Avery (although I am not sure about using a unisex name but I think it is very pretty and unique)
Now the fight on what middle names begin!

Just a quick PSA... If for some reason you are pretty much exclusively pumping like I am.. Make SURE you dont pass out before you do that last pump at bed time.. :scared1: :scared1: YOWZERS! I woke up at 3am this morning CONVINCED that my nipples were going to blow through the wall into the other room. :lmao: :lmao:

On a more positive note.. Just one short week after giving birth to TWO babies.. I am back in my normal clothes!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: I am a little more jiggly then before, but I am okay with that.. I did have almost 14 pounds of baby in there. :woohoo:

The babies are so wonderful!! :lovestruc They eat tons, and are actually awake for about an hour or so at a time.. Just long enough for everyone in the family to give them tons of kisses and hugs. My husband is a little scared of them. He gets really tense when he holds them... and that makes them cry. Everytime. He is a big guy.. and they are SOOO tiny. He is afraid their little heads are going to snap off and roll away. :lmao: :lmao:

Twins are the BEST!!

Congrats again on the babies! I am both sorry and LOL at the pumping story. But that is good info for me as I plan on doing more pumping this time around.

Thanks!! My husband gets the biggest kick out of coming home in the morning and hearing me holler for the pump.. QUICK!! Before i explode!:rotfl2: I should do it at night, But I cant function to feed the babies, change diapers... and pump.

Shoot! I heard that too. I refuse to do Walmart. I absolutely can't stand shopping there, let alone their business practices. Hmmmm...there's got to be somewhere else I can go.

Kohls has a baby registry too.... and if you have people who live far away, they can shop online, which gives more choices anyways.....

I refuse Walmart on all costs too....I just think their people are rude, thats why I stick with Target....

I'll have to check out Kohl's. I have never been there. I haven't heard bad things about Wal Mart but I don't shop there. Good thing I have some time to make these choices!

Awesome! Thanks! Kohl's it is then. I think mine has a really large baby department too.

I was thinking about Amazon too, but that's weird and anyone who would be savvy enough to use Amazon could shop online at BRU...

Target is ok only if you have a gift receipt. If you don't have a receipt, they only let you return 2 items PER YEAR with your driver's license. Luckily, I only got a few things that werent on my registry so I really didn't return much, but I do have to say that this was annoying especially because I wasn't looking to get cash back, I just wanted to exchange it for something else! Who needs 3 rubber duckies anyways? (That is one of the things I tried to return)

Wow! That is so stupid! I guess I could just have all my relatives return them for me. hehehe Actually one of them works at Target.:thumbsup2

Count me in as another on who hates WalMart. I really don't like shopping there at all.

I don't think I am going to register anywhere. I don't want a shower. I have a thing about throwing a party for myself and making people by me something. With the economy the way it is, I wouldn't want someone to have to make a choice, by me something for the baby or pay a bill. My mom thinks I should register anyway that way if someone wants to get me something, they will at least have an idea where to look and what I want. Most of my family lives out of state so they would do their shopping on-line anyway. I don't know. What do you guys think.
