Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

I know how you feel.. DH and I just bought our first house 12-22. We've got soooo many projects going on and not 1 (and I mean it, not ONE) entire project has been finished and I'm really starting to freak out!
We're nowhere close to being able to move in and I really, really wanted to be in before the baby... not to mention that I'm not exactly sure when we need to be out of where we are.. :rolleyes1

Oy vey, you definitely know how I feel then. My MIL kept asking us if we've done anything for the baby yet. Like buying clothes, cribs, etc. and we kept saying not yet. I think she thinks we're nuts... :rotfl2:
Good luck with your projects... I'm sure everything will go well... :grouphug:

Our names are Lilliana Elisabeth for a girl and Tyler James for a boy.

Welcome to the thread!

Thanks for a lovely welcome!!!!
What pretty names... I love the name Tyler.

I want some cheesecake. But Im too fat to drive. :sad2: Thats no good. :lmao:

:rotfl: You made me laugh really hard! I need to do more kegels...

Oh man, that is one thing I have covered. My co-workers got on to my for my uncontrollable urge to buy everyhting I need, saying there would be nothing left for the shower gifts! I told them I hadn't bought a single receiving blanket! :rotfl:
I've got a shelf, changing table, crib, bedding, loooots of clothes (in ranges of size from 0-3 months all the way up to 24 months), highchair, swing, bathtub, crib mattress, diapers, bottles, bottle liners, baskets and car seat.

DH and I have tried to use my monthly bonuses to our advantage by buying stuff with that money instead of trying to work into our everyday spending.. I never really stopped to think that if someone else bought it we never would have had to figure out how to pay for it. :headache:

I don't know why I thought she was going to bring the diapers right over. :confused3 :lmao:
:lmao: No.. She lives about 2 or 3 hours away... Besides, my house is WAY to dirty for her to come over now. :scared1:
Especially when cheesecake is involved.

I think I'm to that point, that other previously preggo people have mentioned, where my tummy has no room. I took like 10 spoonfuls of my pasta soup concoction and I was full!

So frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!!! Does this go away??
WHen the baby drops.

We have just started getting stuff ready around the first of the year. It hit me one day.. OMG. Our babies are coming.. SOON!!:scared1: We didnt have a crib, or anything! Now we are set. I hope. At least we have diapers..:lmao:

Oh man.. I hear ya! I dont want to laugh, or cough, or sneeze... :scared: Its just not pretty.

WHen the baby drops.

Well, crap! :sad1:

I really want golden grahams, cocoa pebbles, chocolate ice cream, a banana and to finish my soup.

Sounds like I'm going to have to go run around the block to make the room and then only pick one!

Why when the cravings start do I have less ROOM!? That is just so not fair! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I haven't been hungry or wanted to eat this entire stinkin' pregnancy and NOW... now it's hitting me and I have no room. :sad2:

The only reason we are not buying anything is because we have NO stinkin space!!!!! Ugh... Once our basement is done we'll be going crazy with the baby stuff... one more month. I'm jealous tho... at least you're almost done with the shopping part :thumbsup2

BTW, apparently my SIL was right. She said once she hit the third tri she had no room to eat anymore. That sounded exciting :headache: isn't it?

:lmao: :lmao: You're going to fit right in around here! :lmao:

Thank you!!! I'm so glad to find this thread... I was feeling kinda lonely in the budget forum... :upsidedow

Well, to be honest... we wouldn't have had the space HERE.
All the baby stuff is at the other house... It helps to have two locations. :rolleyes1
I just told my mom I was buying it as money allowed and time allowed.. I didn't want to get to finals or midterms or the week we've got to move and realize that I didn't have anything... :scared1:

Ugh, third trimester? I forgot thats where I'll be here next week or so... ohmygoodness.

We're glad to have you. I'm super-chatty.

So I was at work tonight and I squatted down to get something...and suddenly found it really difficult to get back up. And so it begins :rotfl:

HAHA... it's good to have another storage space eh? :woohoo:
You're almost there! 3rd tri and then it'll be done before you know it. I can't believe we're almost on 30 weeks! I'm starting to freak out too...

So I think reality is kicking in for me. Yesterday was ash wed, even though I am nonpracticing. I work in a nursing home and all my residents got their ashes yesterday, so it clicked for me.

Good Friday is 36 weeks for me, and that's in 6 weeks...I could go at any point from then on! YIKES. I'll probably have another ultrasound that week and go for ultrasound either good friday or early the next week to check lungs. I think I'm a little nervous about going early, but agree w/my dr and if he's cooked, I should go early...not healthy for me or him for him to be bigger than his 11lb brother, which is the track he's following now.

I'm already so uncomfy and I'm 30 weeks, but would am measuring 6 weeks ahead. I can't imagine you guys having twins!!!

We are going to be using Lilliana Mae. Funny, I never even heard of the name until I looked in the babyname wizard book. Plus I love the name Lily

Hi guys ... Everyone sounds like they are doing well!! Can't wait to see the rush of baby pictures soon.

Enjoy your pregnancy though ... I miss it!!

I am in my TWW right now, 5DPO. Can't wait to test this month as our timing was PERFECT so who knows!

Oh good!! I thought it was waaaayy to early to be feeling this way! The baby started kicking on Monday and ever since then I'm a lot more achy and sometimes crampy feeling when I move around--which makes storytime extra fun! ;) I'm right there with ya girl! :thumbsup2

No way!!! I love the nice short middle name. Lilliana Elisabeth is such a mouthful, but Elisabeth was MIL name. She passed kinda suddenly 3 years ago, so the middle name isn't negotiable.

I love Lily too, but I wanted to give her more options if she wanted to go by something else throughout her life. President Lilliana has a better ring than President Lily. Or how about Princess Lilliana? :thumbsup2

I actually thought I made the name up! Well I did, but imagine my surprise to hear other people already had the name. I love Lily, but I don't like Lillian, so I decided to add an "a." When I told my mom the name (this was more than a year ago, lol) we were at a grocery store and the lady in line behind us said, "Oh! That's my new grand daughter's name!" lol It was meant to be.

Now I just have to know if its a girl or not! :lmao:

How about, Her Royal Highness, Lilliana Elisabeth, MUCH younger wife of King William (the very good looking Prince William)!

OMG time is going by soooo slowly. It's almost painful!!!

When did all of you test BFP?

Probably 9DPO, but I would always start getting morning sickness at 3DPO (which of course didn't end for weeks and weeks).

Did you use OPK's? I actually tested with that first and the line was darker than with the HPT.:thumbsup2

Great :rotfl:

Well luckily I live in south Texas A.K.A. the devil's butt crack and it's already starting to get into the 80's. Soon enough I plan on wearing nothing but flip flops and therefore....no socks :thumbsup2 And for work I may even get a pair of CROCS. I always said I would never wear them but it's too darn hot and everyone tells me they're so comfortable so I will probably give in and buy a pair. For my feet sake! :lmao:

Well the doctor said I should start feeling the baby move pretty soon. At my last ultrasound I saw that little booger wiggling around like crazy and I was shocked I couldn't feel it. Soon enough though I guess. Then I have even MORE to look forward to in the aches and pains department. Thanks for the heads up :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

:thumbsup2 I saw my Dr on Monday, before the baby started really kicking me and she asked about movement. i told her I had felt some flutters, but I wasn't sure. I told her I was trying to enjoy the kick-free life while it lasted since everytime she tries to hear the heartbeat, the little one is doing some sort of dance routine and doesn't like to stop moving.

I think he/she heard me since about an hour later the kicks started and lasted a solid 3 hours. It feels so weird!!

Wow, you all have been chatty lately. :goodvibes See I didn't get on after dinner last night, went to bed at 8 when my son did & this AM had like 4-5 pages to get through.:lmao:

So staley, did you ever come up w/ an estimate for a month's worth of diapers? Conservative estimate for mom I'd say, 8 diapers a day x 2 babies x 30 days = 480  or a couple of the BJ's/Costco size boxes.

I already have a BJ's rewards membership, that's where I'll be nuying baby "consumables" -- so every 6 months I get a "check" (coupon really) for use in the store for like 2% of the last 6 months' worth of purchases. Sometimes it's almost 100 bucks back (to use at the store.) It more than covers the additional membership fee.
