"Newest" Moms Hangout... take 2!

We got super quiet again!

Umm....Lily had her 15 month checkup yesterday. She's 22 pounds, 31.5 inches. Her head jumped up a few percentiles (I think the nurse messed it up last time). She dropped a lot in the weight percentiles. It's pretty hard to get her to eat these days. She's pretty picky (her wants change just about every day), but the hardest thing is getting her to stop moving long enought to eat.

She has a cold and nights suck, but I'm hoping we'll get though it now and be healthy for Disney. Heaven knows we'll get sick once we get home.

Speaking of Disney...half of us are going to be or are already at WDW, so that's probably why we're so quiet.

Yeah I was just thinking how quiet it was lately. Hope everyone had a good turkey day last week.:goodvibes The rest of us are pouting that we're *not * at Disney. :rotfl:

We were plannig to go to Disney this coming week to but plans fell though. My mom is going down on Sunday though - Lucky!!!

I hope all is well with everyone. Lilliana just turned 18 months, it crazy how fast time has gone.:scared1:

Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving! We went to vist my in-laws in Pennsylvania and my mother-in-law REALLY wanted to take Brynn to see Santa, so we went on Saturday. I'm really happy with how the picture turned out and hope you all don't mind if I share....

Owen had an appointment with endocrin yesterday in Pittsburgh, the Dr. measured his head and flipped out. Sent us straight to see neurosurgery because he said his head shouldn't have grown as much as it did.

Luckily the neurosurgeon we saw two weeks ago was in the clinic so we got to see him and he just shook his head and said "Endocrin shouldn't measure heads. He measured it wrong. See you in 2 1/2 months like I said last time."

I was so mad. :sad2: You'd think they'd have a consistent way of doing it!

Owen's head is still way off the charts. :(

Elliott was a HUGE fan of Thanksgiving. Turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, brussel sprouts, and pumpkin pie. We have yet to find anything that the boy won't eat. i am sure in no time he will be eating us out of house and home, just like DS11 (the other night my DSD made a frozen pizza, DS11 was going to have some as a bedtime snack....ended up eating over half of it!).

Elliott will walk all the way across a room now. Still a drunken sailor, but a little steadier on his feet. He also likes to "pet" the Christmas tree, when he is able to get close enough to it!

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! We are still under construction in our house, currently working on painting and finishing the flooring, so not only is computer time limited, but I have nowhere to sit other than my bed, and the internet connection in here is pretty shady at best.

Tigger - Congrats to Elliot on walking! Scarlett's been considering it, but not too sure of letting go. She's tried a few times and taken a step or 2, but then falls and promptly resorts to crawling. Funny thing is, she has never cruised. In fact, she didn't really crawl much till 9.5 months. Prior to that she'd scoot on her butt, lunge forward on her belly, or crawl like 3 "steps", then stop and sit up. So in the past 3 weeks or so she has gone from relatively immobile to trying to walk alone. Definitely not the path my other 2 took! In fact, the other 2 were both cruising at 6 months, so when they started standing alone, then walking, it seemed like a natural progression.

Scarlett will also eat anything we give her. At first, she hated everything. Hated is an understatement. She refused all jarred foods after 1-2 spoonfuls, and she'd just cry when we sat her in the highchair. Then I realized she just doesn't like baby food, but regular food she loves. So she will literally eat anything too (other than dairy and nuts, as she still seems to have mild intolerances to both so we're staying away till she's 1yo or so), and she'll actually eat quite a bit, given that she's not even 16lbs yet.

Patsy - That is horrible that endocrine scared you like that! Are you packed and ready for your trip? I can't wait to see the pictures of Lucas getting his hair cut!

Sarah - My 1st was like that, super picky eater around 15 months. She only ate oatmeal, pasta, bananas, and white rice. Oh, and strawberries. But around the time she turned 3yo she started to eat nearly everything. So my suggestion is to ride it out and she'll get over it.

So the babies have both had a bit of a cold. Dylan seems to be weathering it just fine, kinda stuffy, but still eating & sleeping just fine. Katie was a bit grumpy yesterday, but last night she spiked a fever & spent just about as much time screaming as sleeping -- not a great night. MIL spelled me & spent from about 2-5AM w/ her downstairs so DH & I could catch a nap. Eventually Katie slept while being held for a little while. So off to the ped today & of course, she's got an ear infection. The ped checked Dylan's ears too, since he was along for the ride & as I suspected, he was fine.

So this is my very first experience w/ an ear infection, ODS never had one as a baby. I had the pharmacy flavor the antibiotic w/ grape, since the babies seem to like the grape flavor meds better than others -- I'm hoping that she takes the meds easily , kinda dreading having to force meds if we have to....:sad2:

We had a good and quite thanksgiving with just the 4 of us. We took the time to nap and just spend time together as a family. We will probably do the same at Christmas. Daniel is continuing to grow like a weed. He's over 15 lbs now and 2 1/2 months old.

We are making plans for Daniel's first trip to Disney. We are considering Disney Land or Disney World. Probably go with Disney World as we know we love it there. We will go next October when DD has a fall break for a week. Wish they offered free dining into October, but I'm sure there will be other discounts for that time posted eventually. I'm still waiting to confirm with the school the actual dates of the break for next year. Usually its the first full week in October. I can't wait to take Daniel and see what he thinks of Disney World.

For all of you with the sick babies.... I hope they start feeling better very soon. We are in that camp as well. Annabelle has a cold of some sorta.

Tigger~ Congrats to Elliot walking that is awesome!
Lauren~ That is a very cute picture with Santa.

Annabelle had her 6 month appt on 11/19. She only gained 1 lb from her 4 month check up so she is now.. 16 lbs and 26 1/2 inches long. She is also scooting everywhere and I am hoping she will be crawling by Christmas.

For those of you going to Disney ~ Have a wonderful trip!!!!

Anyone have their baby go on a nap strike at around 10 months? Elliott will NOT take naps for the sitter at all this week. And she knows he is tired. Just won't sleep. She rocks him, lets him cry, lays down with him....nothing!!!

Scarlett did this yesterday. I put her in her crib at her usual morning naptime and she sat there and played over an hour. So I took her out, let her play on the floor near me, nursed her again, put her back in her crib, but still just sat there playing. She finally fell asleep around noon and slept till 1:30, but she normally naps for 1.5-2 hours at 9:30am and again for another 1.5-2 hours around 1pm. Today we were at a playgroup so she missed her regular naptime again, but fell asleep on the way home at nearly noon. We'll see when she wakes up.

But my 1st did that too when she was transitioning from 2 naps to 1 nap, so maybe that's part of his issue? Madison was also around 10 or 11 months and went a week or 2 without any naps, then went to just 1 longer afternoon nap instead of 2 naps.

Is Elliot grouchy from the lack of sleep, or does he seem okay during the day? I'd just ride it out if he's not crying and whining and stuff and see if maybe he's settling into a new schedule. If he is crabby, well, hmm, sorry, I don't know what to tell you cause you can't really force him to sleep!

ETA: Right after I posted this, I checked the baby monitor and Scarlett is very much awake. I knew she woke up when I moved her from the car to her crib, but I sort of assumed she had gone back to sleep. Guess I was wrong! She's quietly playing in there though, so we'll see if she decides to nap or if I'll have to take her out.

I finally uploaded some photos, so I thought I'd share some since I've been promising for months!

We hiked to the top of a volcano crater in HI. The kids really loved it, but me, wearing the baby, not so much. My husband had to carry our son a small part of the way, but our daughter hiked the whole way to the top and back.

Great photo's everyone!

We had a very nice Thanksgiving here as well. Ours was actually a day early as DH and I left for Colorado on Turkey Day. We moved into our vacation home in Breckenridge:banana: It was hard to leave Natalie at home with Grandma but much easier on us. We got everything put up and the house looks great. We're soooo happy with it. I can't wait to take Natalie up there.

Hope everyone's little ones are feeling better.

So the nap strike is only at the sitter's house, apparently! My parents had Elliott on Friday, took 2 good naps, and then napped pretty well this weekend. So hopefully this keeps up at the sitter's house!

I keep losing track of time and this thread. How is everyone? We took Isabel on her first trip to Disney in October for her birthday - I'll have to post pictures when I get a chance!

Justine - the kiddos look great - I cannot believe how big they've all gotten in the last few months. Hawai'i looked AMAZING - one day. . . .

Woohoo! Got a phone call today, Elliott booked his first modeling gig!! My older DS used to model a little bit locally when he was 2 and 3 years old. Signed Elliott up with his old agency, and he is shooting a commercial on December 17th!

We have a crawler!!!!!:woohoo: Annabelle had been scooting/army crawl for a while and then the other day she just got up and crawled.
In other new, We tried to take Annabelle to get pictures with Santa at Bass Pro Shop this past Saturday and they had a 3 and 1/2 hour wait :scared1:. We are gonna try again next friday during the day and hopefully we will be able to!
Hahaha as I was typing this she crawled over her daddy her feet were not touching anything so cute.:lovestruc

Hope everyone is having a good holiday!

Woohoo! Way to go Annabelle!!

Well, we have a whopper of a snow storm coming today. I am putting in a few hours at work right now, and then going to pick up the kids at my parent's house, and we will be hunkering down for a day of making Christmas goodies, playing, and watching movies.

We tried to take our Christmas pictures last Friday with Santa, but Santa was on break the whole time we were at the mall. It was really quite funny. I told Natalie that Santa went potty so she kept saying to anyone who would listen... Santa potty, Santa potty, Santa potty. I don't know why I didn't just say that Santa had to go bye bye. Oh well, we are going to try again next week.
