"Newest" Moms Hangout... take 2!

Everyone please think good thoughts! We're meeting our realtor this week so she can evaluate our house! Hopefully we won't have too much more to do and this will all be a "smooth" process!

We just met with our realtors yesterday!!! The only thing we have to do is remove some of the furniture and rearrange the rest of it. Now we just have to wait for some "news" from DH's job. Not sure if it is going to be good or bad. He works for a yacht builder, so it could be anything!

I just got back from seeing Wicked. I love that play! I left Carys with DH. His first long stretch with her. He did well! Changed her, fed her and put her down for a nap. I got home about 45 minutes ago and she was just waking up. I love to see her face. She is so cute and I missed her even though it was just for a few hours. :goodvibes

Hope everyone is doing well and had a good weekend. :)

That's too funny! I did the same thing with Lily at about the same age as Carys is when Wicked was here!

It's quiet cuz Patsy and I are yapping up a storm!

I was sick all weekend, still not 100%.

Lily has been so much better since she started crawling, I'm actually starting to enjoy being a mom.

Good luck to you and Amanda! Our house is on the market and we just got 2 offers in tonight and hopefully will have a sale by the end of the week. We signed off on one offer that was over asking price, but we're waiting to be sure they can definitely get the loan they need.

Congratulations!:cheer2:

After sleeping through the night for the last 10 nights (9 pm until about 6:30 am)....Elliott threw me for a curve and woke up at 4:15. I tried to calm him down, get him back to bed, no dice, though. Made him 4 ounces, which he sucked down in 5 minutes!! He fussed for a bit more, like he was still hungry, and then fell right asleep. Unfortunately, by that time, it was starting to get light out, and the dang birds were all chirping outside our window, so I never really fell back asleep again. Hopefully this was just a one time deal!

Hi all. I've been quiet lately (but still reading along!) Babies have beeen kicking my butt big time. Not STTN, well sometimes Dylan doesn't wake to nurse til around 4ish, but Katie has been waking to eat 2x every night. So between the two of them, my nights suck.

Ususally DH helps & takes at least 1 of Katie's feedings -- but this week he's away at a conference. I'm more than a little jealous that he gets 3 consecutive baby-free nights. Just as an example -- last night I didn't get into bed til 11:30, not sure when exactly Katie woke to feed, but I came aware just before 2AM sitting in the recliner in my room holding a sleeping katie & an empty bottle. (Not sure if I was asleep there with her for 10 minutes or 2 hours. :confused3 ) Got us both back in bed & Dylan woke to nurse sometime between 3 & 4. Finally Katie got me up for the day at about 4:30...... just ugh.

I'm actually kind of afraid for the next 2 nights......:scared:

Thanks for all your opinions on the "grabbing the baby out of the car seat" thing. I guess it could be that she has 3 kids and just felt like she was allowed to do it.

Is anyone using Pampers Swaddlers? They recently changed them to be more absorbent and took away the line on the outside that changes from yellow to green to let you know without taking off the diaper if it's wet. I'm bummed!
What size are you using?

Sarah is in 1-2s and they still have the line.

It will SOOOO get more and more enjoyable! I am really starting to get in the swing of things... finally! I think now that the twins are sttn, and on a regular schedule.. Plus they would rather be off playing then dealing with old mom.. It is just way better around here. I can finaly do stuff without having them scream for me to hold them all the time.

:hug:It will get better. I am so jealous that your husband helps out with the night feeds! When my husband was on nights, it was all me.. Now that he is on days, its still all me when the babies wake up. Jasmine sleeps through the night every night... But VInny wakes up every once in a while. My husband is just useless at night. He cant function to get up and deal with a baby. It just irritates me, so I yell at him to go back to bed and get out of my way!:lmao:

I leave in FOUR DAYS!! I still have some stuff to finish up for the kids.. But I have almost everything packed and ready to go. The biggers have their plane bags packed.. I did find all my shorts I had pulled out to take sitting on my dresser last night. Good thing I checked, or I wouldnt have had any pants to wear!:lmao:

I went and got the babies birth certificates last night. I ran out as soon as my husband got home, and barely got there before they closed. Then I got home, and all of the sudden our cable shut off. CRAP! Did I forget to pay the bill again?? I havent done that since the twins were teeny. I am horrid at remembering to take of things like that. I had to run down to the cable place and make a payment... DUH! But I fixed it, and now we are good to go. I have been so busy lately, its a wonder I havent left a kid somewhere. :lmao:

I am so ready for this trip to get going.. Im just wiped out getting everything ready for it! Then there is this girl that works with my husband who is planning a trip to Disneyland with her son.. She knows that we have gone a bunch of times, so she asks my husband all about it.. Where to stay, all that. He doesnt know! He just shows up and I do all the planning!:lmao: So I wrote down a ton of info for her last night. My husband says I should start a business planning Disneyland vacations for folks.. Then sewing their kids custom clothes for the trip.:rotfl2::rotfl2: He is such a dork!

She has been a pill the last 2 days, I'm pretty sure it's another growth spurt. She slept a LOT yesterday and was whiny and cranky when awake. This morning she really wanted to play, but everytime I put her down she would scream. And then she's wiggle like crazy when I picked her up. :headache: I wonder if it's like those awful growth spurts when your a kid. Remember? i remember feeling like I had the flu, because my whole body was just so sore.

My DH really wants to help at night, but he usually makes things worse, because she will freak out if he touches her or sometimes even if she sees or hears him.:confused3 It can be rough. I get so irritated with him, but he just wants to help.

AHHHH!!! YAY! I hope you have an amazing trip and I can't wait to hear all about it!

I've been told that too about WDW, but that's a great business idea...a kid's clothing boutique/Disney vacation specialist! :lovestruc

I don't think I ever gave you all my Maclaren report.

WE (even unhappy DH) LOVE it! It is super manuverable and light and easy to push. I'm glad we didn't get the Baby jogger because it has a larger turning radius and taller kids grow out of it quicker. We can go in stores at the mall that we avoided with the Graco (Hot Topic--which is too funny in the first place...we are too old for Hot Topic, but most of what they sell totally appeals to our childhood).

We can't wait to take it to WDW!

One more thing...in addition to Mama and Dada, Lily is also saying Pooh. And she tries really hard to say Mouse for Mickey and Minnie. :lovestruc

Welcome!!

From what I hear, a baby that young is pretty easy at WDW.

Have you heard about the Baby Care Stations? Each park has one. They have quiet air conditioned rooms for changing and feeding. Do you have a carrier for him? It might be nice to have him in a sling or something instead of just a stroller at that age. It's so hard to know what to ask about for a trip like that, isn't it?

You can ride anything without a height restriction with him, which pretty much only eliminates the big thrill rides. Have you heard about the child swap program?

I hope you have a great trip.

Sarah is in 1-2s and they still have the line.

Carys is wearing 1's. I have a box of them that I haven't opened yet but the ones that I opened in one of the bag type packaging doesn't have the line.

I had a coupon for Huggies so I got a small bag of 40 to try. They don't have a line but I like the way they fit. Plus they have Winnie the Pooh on them!

I'm going through 10-12 diapers a day so at this point I will put anything on her!

hi yes Ive heard of them Ive been to disney many times and have seen the one at mk. Yes I have two different ones a munchkin jelly bean one and a eddy bauer one i haven't decided which one I like better but it seems like he likes the jellybean one better, the eb one has like a seat belt thingy in it and i dont think he likes it so i may take it out. It is harder I asked the dr what to avoid and what not and she told me not to use sunblock so we got him a bucket hat to wear lol. I know we can pretty much go on everything which is great! No, I haven't heard of the swap program what is that? Thanx! I hope we do too!! :flower3:

Congrats on Logan doing so well! That is a huge weight gain in just 2 months so you must feel great!

The baby swap is where you can go to a ride with a height restriction, show them the baby, and they give you a pass called a "Rider Switch". So you can ride alone and when you get off your husband can ride alone without waiting in the line all over again. You typically use the FP entrance and wait in that line.

I have taken 2 of my kids to WDW at 3 months old, the oldest one in May (she was born 2/26 so close to your son - she was just under 3 months when we went). We did use sunblock (our ped is okay with it under 6 months and neither kid had a reaction), but we still kept them shaded with a sunhat with neck flaps and, in my son's case, in a sling, with my daughter the Bjorn with a light blanket draped over the back to shade her arms and legs. Neither kid got hot or anything and they were quite content to be worn all day (as in we never had either in the stroller on the trip).

Lilliana just started walking, she went from taking a few steps to walking all over the house. She's 11 month's today! :goodvibes This past year has flown by so fast. I ordered her birthday cake yesterday, we are doing a ladybug theme. It's the oh so sweet line. I even found her a few matching dresses at Gymboree Outlet that matches it perfectly. :lovestruc

Welcome to the new mommies!

I am through with grad school!:cool1: I took my final for my last class tonight. Graduation is next Sat, but I'm not going. They can mail it to me! I'm just so happy to be done!

Katie is still taking single steps. We thought she was going to be our earliest walker, but now is our latest! She is saying what sounds like "hey there" for hi, and "bye bye". She says dada constantly. But that is about it. She babbles all the time, and still loves "reading" to her big brother and sister!

Congrats on finishing school. :goodvibes I just went back for my MBA, not sure what I am getting myself into though.

I had been talking about being a counselor for years, and finally decided to do it 2 yrs ago. Things were bad enough working full time with two kids. Then dh talked me into trying for one more! It was almost too much, but I'm so glad I did it (and so glad I have my little Katie lying next to me right now.
