Newer member needs advice reagarding waitlist

Recently we had to change our travel plans and move our vacation by a few weeks. This is for January. We are looking to switch to MLK week and I am finding this imposible! There really is nothing, so we have to waitlist.

What is the success of waitlisting day by day?

Do you often have "holes" in your vacation and need to scramble to find somewhere else to stay? What do you do?

Would my chances probably be better waitlisting at Boardwalk rather than Beach Club? (the rest of our family is staying in the Epcot area so we are really trying to focus on a DVC there if possible)

Should I totally forget about trying to get a room over the MLK weekend? And maybe just show up on Monday the 21st??!! I've never been during this time, and I'm getting the feeling that it is very crowded at WDW?????

Do you have a backup plan if the waitlist doesn't come through?

If not, would it make more sense to waitlist at all DVC resorts so that you have a better chance at having a room?

Have had a waitlist for MLK in place for couple of months now for Jan 21-26 and it has not come through, This is for a studio at OKW so I would definitely have a back up plan if I were you.

You never know. I recently canceled a BW view 1 bedroom for Jan. 19 - 26 because we had reserved it for our friends who now cannot go. I'm sure that we are not the only ones who have changes (like you did!) Good luck. We will be there Jan. 19 - 26 and will be looking forward to escaping the frozen tundra for a few days!
