Newcomer-Need your help

I am a newcomer and never stayed in a Disney resort before - booking thru AAA in the ASM and they offer a preferred room. Told I can request a building (but no guarentee) - is there one bldg better than another? Any suggestions on how to request two rooms next to each other (4 adults & 1 6yr old in our party) or to request a non parking lot view.

First, WELCOME!

The preferred views are the rooms closest to the main area. You can't hardly go wrong with any of them.
If you have a room style or building preference, just tell your TA. And the room types variety from person to person. Just ask for a pool view, or just say you prefer not to have a parking lot view. All rooms are non-smoking now.
I was not sure if you plan to stay at All Star Movies (ASMo) or Music (ASMu).
You can request connecting (door between) or adjoining (next to each other) rooms. I would think you would have a better chance due to having a 6 year old with you.
Jusr remember that all requests are just that -- requests.
At least by reserving and paying for a preferred view, you will be staying in a preferred building for certain.
