JetBlue is currently flying from Newburgh. I live near Danbury, CT and I have flown many times from Bradley, and all the NY airports including White Plains but I have never flown from Stewart even though it is only about an hour away. Does any have any feedback on Stewart? I like Bradley because it is so easy to get to and to park at, flights are always on time and never canceled. Bradley is like the Anti LaGuardia.

How does Stewart compare. What is it like, getting to, parking, delays, etc.??

TIA

I have never flown out of Stewart but have been there to pick someone up. This was about 7 years ago but back then is was very easy to get too, to park, and to make my way to the terminal. I have also been to Westchester to pick up and drop off and it is on par with that airport size wise. I am also very excited about jetBlue flying out of Stewart.

This is one of my FAVORITE airports - I have flown in and out of Stewart a bunch. The terminal is new and the lines for check-in and security are MUCH shorter then at LGA or JFK or even HPN (White Plains).

Go for it. JetBlue is a great airline. Glad to hear they are servicing SWF now.

My parents have used this airport quite a few times and love it. Much easier arriving and departing than Newark where they used to fly from.

Should be great for you.

I am happy to see Air Tran and Jet Blue coming to Stewart. Jet Blue will be offering limited service to Florida (Allegiant already does). Air Tran offers service to Florida as well as connections thru Atlanta.

Stewart has rarely worked for my husband for business travel based on flight times offered and cost to client. Although, when it does work for our family it's great-close, on-time and parking is a breeze.

BUT, for myself I prefer Southwest out of Bradley(great airport!!!) or Albany. I love the fact that I can make changes and watch for Dings with no penalty.

Keep in mind though if there is only one flight per day you could have big problems with a delay or cancellation. Friend of mine recently was offered drive to LGA to catch a different flight or come back tomorrow after she arrived at Stewart and found her flight canceled. :confused3

Eganclan - Thanks for the feedback. This is exactly what I was looking for. Bradley is my favorite area airport and LGA is my least. In a previous job where I traveled often on business I can't tell you how many times I would have flights either in or out of the area where the LGA flights were delayed or canceled while the BDL took off and landed on time. Throw in the ease to get there and the ease to self park and get around. With the amount of traveling I used to do, I am surprised I never flew in or out of SWF.

I am obviously looking at all the airports for our trip in the Spring. Last time we flew on Song from BDL and it was great (in a snow storm btw and it still took off on time). Previously I have gone from LGA because I got the best fare. This SWF deal with JetBlue is just another option to keep my finger on.

I agree and avoid LGA and Kennedy at all costs especially if I am traveling with my children. My husband doesn't mind either one but they are also both closer to his office.

The 6 of us were flying out of BDL to SAN in Aug. and just as we pulled into the airport it started pouring. No problem just pulled into the parking garage. The lots are fantastic as well the van is usually at your car before you can even get your bags out.

When Southeast was flying out of Stewart I used them several times and wind, rain or snow schedules usually held.

Heading to Disney next week out of ALB with my oldest daughter and searching in vain for a good airfare out of anywhere for 12/26 for all of us to Tampa/St. Pete or F.Lauderdale. Jet Blue is offering $299 each way from Stewart. OUCH..... Husband and I decided over the weekend that we may be driving down to Sarasota for Christmas with my parents then driving down to Plantation for a soccer tournament. Kids will not be too thrilled with the idea of driving but I am not holding my breath for a Ding for that week!

Good luck with your flights, Denise
