Welcome to “Newbies, Pros, and Stuck in the Middle-A PTR"

Let me start by introducing the cast...
Firstly, of course, is ME!! Taylor {Dopey}, 23 (will be 24 by the time the trip rolls around), but am a total 5-year-old when it comes to Disney. This is going to be my third trip to WDW. It has been 10 years since my last visit, and I am a bit overdo if you ask me. I have been lurking the boards here for a couple of years now, but thanks to the persistence of my cousin, I have decided to actually try my hand at this.

Next off is Falena {Froggy}, 24. My bestest friend. Her first trip to WDW. She is busy acting like going is no big deal. The rest of us know the truth though.

Then there is Johnny {Pocahontas}, 24, boyfriend of Froggy. Another first timer. He is seriously vacation deprived. Let me just say that his first time outside of California (Vegas does not count) was this past January.

Finally, there is Jenn {Pooh}, 26. But I am making her an honorary 24-year-old for this trip. My secondest bestest friend. She finally admitted that her 5-year-oldness is coming out too. Yay for being kids again!! This will be her 579th trip to the World. Not really, but she is too lazy to actually sit down and count them. It is definitely more than 30, but *probably* under 100. I'm jealous.

Side trip... About the nicknames... The only one I feel I should explain is Pocahontas. This past January, Froggy and Pocahontas came up from California to visit me in Seattle. Well, one night we were playing Disney Scene It. He got a 'My Play' question where you watch the clip then answer the question that follows. Well, the clip starts playing, and he turns to Froggy and asks her the name of the movie that this clip is from, to which she answers, Pocahontas. Well, guess what the question was. Thats right. Name this movie. *head desk* We spent the rest of their vacation kidding each other about it. So he is now lovingly known as Pocahontas to me. Though I would never tell him this to his face. Hope he does not read this at some point. End of side trip.

Now a little background. Froggy, Pooh and I met when we were all working West Side Store Operations at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA (yay Disney!!). Froggy and I met late 2003, and we met Pooh in 2004. We became great friends because of our insanely similar personalities and our ability to hold 50 conversations worth of topics in a 10 minute period. We are not crazy. We just have conversation ADD. Well, Pooh moved back to her native Jersey. I followed suit (sort of), moving away from my native California and moving to Texas with my boyfriend. Less than a year later, he and I came up to Seattle. Froggy, meanwhile, stayed in California, stayed at Disneyland, and stayed in Store Ops. She secretly loves it there, no matter how loudly she disagrees.

Fast forward to April 2009. I was back in California for my cousin's wedding (TnkrBoo, daughter of Goofster57 ~ yes, I am related to him, and I am willing to admit it:rolleyes1). Talking to Froggy, we realized her plans to come up to Seattle in July when Pooh would be out wasn't going to work out. Which, when finding out Pooh had broken her foot, turned out to be a good thing. So we decided to come up with some sort of trip where we could all meet up since it had been five years since we had all hung out together. And the brilliant idea of a meet up at WDW was born.

So from February 3rd through February 9th, 2010, we will be invading 'The World.' Thanks to Pooh's fabulous parents, we are using their DVC points to stay the AKL. Whether it is Jamba House or Kidani Village, I have no clue. Pooh didn't pay close enough attention when booking. Froggy, as she is still at D-land, will be getting us into the parks free of charge. Which means we are only down for flights, food, and souvenirs. Though I am positive I can spend more than enough to compensate for not having to pay for the resort or tickets.

I know starting a PTR this far out is going to end up killing me. Not yet having park hours or schedules of shows or being able to book ADRs is driving me nuts. I am a planner. I make lists. I like having an itinerary (which, reading so many TR's, I am finding is not so uncommon). So, as I sit here typing this, I hope this will help kill the two plus months I have to wait to get the hours, the schedules, the ADRs.

Well, that is if I do not end up flaking...

Yay!
I shall begin to live vicariously through your planning adventures!!!

Yeah for itineraries!!!! I'll be watching over this trip report, too. Can't wait for more! popcorn::
I am so jealous!!! (I can't believe you admitted to being related to Goofster57 though)

lol... I know, I really debated that one. But in the end, decided, why not? I mean, he has his moments of hilarity. Which keeps people coming back for more. He has always made me laugh at least. And that is a good thing, right?

You guys know I "ROCK" \m/ it here on the DIS...

Why can't it be closer to like 90 days before I leave? I mean, if I were leaving tomorrow that would be most awesome, but I want to make my ADRs already. Err- I mean TnkrBoo wants to make my ADRs for me because she wants to pretend she is going on this trip. Or even just having park hours would be nice. I have the hours from last year around this time, but, knowing for sure would be cool. Then I can plan what day is what park with what ADRs and what rides to do in what order around what shows... Ok, so I am not that crazy. Close though.

One great thing is Pooh has decided to chip in on decision making. Froggy still does not want any responsibility there, and Pocahontas is completely out of the loop. But that was part of the agreement I think. He gets to tag along, but gets no say. I am sure he will be just fine. As long as we ride Star Wars and see LMA, he will be very happy. What can I say, he is a boy.

Well, we (meaning Pooh and I, but mostly I) have decided on our ADRs. I have pretty much decided on all my food. I like food. :) Food makes me happy. So I have decided to waste the rest of this post with my food wants. Magic Kingdom there really is no plans for. None of the restaurants there is jumping out at me. Plus, I know we will be snacking. Dole Whip. Need I say more? I miss these the most from Disneyland. That and Bengal Barbecues chicken kabob things and bacon wrapped asparagus. *drool* I also want a Cappucino Float from Sleepy Hollow. And funnel cake. And something from the bakery. And a soft pretzel with cheese. And corn dog nuggets. See what I mean about snacking?

DHS we are planning on Sci Fi. I remember loving Prime Time, but during a recent poll I had where only one person actually voted, Sci Fi was the winner. AK is Yak and Yeti. Yea. These two are boring, aren't they? Let us move on to EPCOT. I LOVE EPCOT! So for EPCOT, we are going to do the Princess Breakfast at Akershus. I have never done character dining that I remember. I probably have at some point. But I don't remember it, so it doesn't count. Plus I love the princesses, so YAY!! Pocahontas I hear is also looking forward to this. He's just a dirty boy. Nothing is planned for lunch here, but I am guessing we will be snacking as well as drinking around the world, so I am not going to plan anything for lunch. For dinner, I would love to get ADRs for Le Cellier. I have heard amazing things about this place and I start to get hungry every time I think about it. Now, what I want to do is an earlier dinner. Not like 4 o'clock early, but early. That way, we can walk the food off a little before dessert. The Kitchen Sink. I mentioned this to Froggy, and this of all things is what she is most excited about. Travel a bazillion miles to eat a giant ice cream sundae. *sigh* But since Beach Club is back behind EPCOT, I figure we can just walk over there, hope for a short wait, and each gain 50 pounds.
