We were at Universal Apr 30-May 3. We loved it. DH says its his new favorite and doesn't care if we do Disney but we MUST return to Universal.

We arrived via MH Transportation--who were great BTW--around 10-10:30ish. Checked-in our room at PBH. Arrived at US around 11:15am. We went straight to the Simpson's ride...of course...my DH's all-time fav show. Kids love it too. Best ride cue EVER! Very fun ride. DH and kids rode it 3 times. After my first ride I couldn't ignore my headache and searched for Tylenol finding it at the first aid place.

The FOTL passes are the bomb. So many great rides its hard to remember. Mummy was great. Nickalodian(sp?) ride was fun, can't wait to see the new coaster when it opens. Disappointed in MIB, Jaws sucked, and that show thingy where they pick people for extras was a waste of time(Disaster?).

We did wet-n-wild on May 1. It was OK but wouldn't go back there.

IOA was our favorite. Went there on May 2. DH and I had a blast on the Hulk and Dueling Dragons. Sweet coasters. The water rides were crazy. We were all literally soaked and dripping. Note to self--next time wear bathing suits under clothes and bring a towel. Even had fun in Suess Land. Didn't like the stupid show thingy in the big temple(Posieden's Fury?)--waste of time and my feet hurt from standing around in line and then thru the "show."

Food at Universal counter service is WAY better than Disney. Burgers are big and full of flavor. Mels Drive In was yummy and even liked Circus McGurkus.

At Disney, we are always ready to go back to our room at 1:00pm. At Universal, we spent the whole day not leaving until around 4:30 or 5:00pm. Everything is more compact and the FOTL passes keep you energized because there isn't as much time wasted in line.

We are now converts. Next trip we will split our time half Disney/half Universal. We definitely wished we had had more time here as 3 days wasn't enough.

It's great to read reports from newbies to the parks. Glad you had a great time! I agree with you on some of your disappointing rides except for MIB. That ride really grows on you as you learn the little tricks to getting a high score.

Thanks for sharing that wonderful report! Always glad to see people who appreciate Universal. :thumbsup2

Glad to had fun Amanda. Next time you go, read the sticky on this forum about how to score well on MIB. It will make the world of difference when you learn where the big targets are and how to get better scores.

All right. all right....I will give MIB a second chance. My Dh and DDs loved it but I have a hard time seeing where the laser is pointing. I have the same issue in the Buzz Lightyear thingy. I do really like the new Toy Story one at DHS. Much easier to see what your gun is pointing at.

Can't WAIT to ride the new Rip Rocket coaster. It looks AWESOME. Will it be open for HHN? We are considering a trip the last week of October IF we can get a hotel deal. WOn't know until September though and I am worried it might be sold out by then. Grinchmas sounds like fun too :thumbsup2

It should be open by the fall...hopefully.

I'm going to be a newbie to Universal!! I'm going to Disney & Universal in 3 weeks, definitely will have to post my thoughts :)
