Newbie with Question???

I have a really quick question. We had to skip WDW this year, but are planning a trip again in early 2006. I am considering renting DVC points for our trip. We have 5 in our family and I am wondering if we can rent a studio for our trip or if we will have to upgrade to a one bedroom? We have three girls 12, 8, 3. Any info will be great!!

According to the rules, you would actually need a 2 bedroom. A studio and 1 bedroom are both a limit of 4 people plus 1 under 2. A 2 bedroom is a limit of 8. There is a long occupancy thread on this board regarding DVC's unofficial policy of allowing 5 in a 1 bedroom.

If you want to be able to enjoy the luxury of a Two Bedroom DVC accommodation (full kitchen, in room washer and dryer, balcony, whirlpool tub, two separate bedrooms and a living room/kitchen, three TVs + DVD player), then renting points will change your lives forever. Don't forget to factor in the money you can easily save by eating meals (at least breakfast) in you room.

If you just want a place to crash for the night, look elsewhere--maybe connecting rooms at a Value or Moderate.

You may want to read the occupancy thread - it's a very heated discussion! Personally, I don't think you'd have any problem in a 1 bedroom. A studio might be a little hard - but even then - I know there are plenty of people who have even told the front desk there are 5 people, and they had no problem giving them a 5th key. With a 1 bedroom at OKW (where we stayed) there was a pull out couch that my 2 sons slept on, and right next to it was a couch that easily could sleep a 3 year old (even I was able to strech out on it). OKW studios have 2 queen beds, but the other resorts have 1 queen bed and a pull out couch - so it may be harder for you to get the 5 of you comfortable there. If you can splurge on a 2 bedroom,have fun - but since your youngest is so young still - I'm sure a 1 bedroom would wrk fine. Have fun!
