Newbie with question

We are new DVCers with our contracts are BWV. We have decided to try to get a 1-BR at BWV for February '07. What do you think my chances are? I know this is late to try to get in, but we just got our contracts a few weeks ago.

But more importantly, I read here often that people waitlist for times that they want. And I think I understand it's better to waitlist for a day at a time, rather than a week at a time, correct? What I'm not sure of is, how long do you wait before giving in and just calling to reserve a regular room on the days that your waitlist haven't come through? Bottom line - I guess I want to know what waitlisting is all about.

Sorry if this has been addressed somewhere. I have read about waitlisting and a lot of times you all get what you want . I hope it works out that way for us as well. We're already planning for our Feb. '08 trip and will book 11 months out!

I'm pretty flexible with resorts/dates, so I always make a ressie at "home" at 11 months and then WL the entire thing at 7 months if/when I want to try some place new. MS will automatically cancel your old ressie and give you the WL when it comes available.

I'd only do day by day if it was a holiday and I really, really, really wanted a specific location. It just seems like too much hassle otherwise.

If you are not trying for President's week, I think you have a good shot at gettting a PV - Pool/Garden 1 bedroom at the BWV for February. Tomorrow will be a busy day for MS (always is aftr a long Holiday weekend), so try to call right at 9 Eastern.
