Hello all. Our family will be arriving for our first trip to WDW in the early afternoon on Sept 27. We are staying at POFQ. I plan on laying low and recovering from the trip at the resort for the afternoon. However, we thought that we try dinner that night at AKL's Boma - we have ADRs for 5:00PM. Using Disney's transportation system, what is the best route, and how early should we leave to get to the AKL by five. Can we take the bus to AK and then walk to AKL, or is it too far? THanks for your help.

Doesn't matter if it's too far - there are no sidewalks and it's not safe.
BEST (but most expensive) option is to take a cab.
Best Disney option would be the bus to Animal Kingdom, then the AKL bus from there.
Alternate best option would be get on the first park bus that comes along at POFQ, then take the AKL bus from there. SOMEWHERE at www.laughingplace.com, there's a transportation time chart, but I can't find it :( Maybe somebody else can help you, but you should keep in mind that after the bus picks you up at POFQ, it makes four stops at POR before heading out.

Welcome to the Dis!!

I would suggest what the previous poster said of taking a cab. It will cost you somewhere around $10-$15 but will save you gobs of time. If you had a 5:00 adr, you probibly wouldn't need to leave until about 4:40.

Your other option is to take disney transportation. I would suggest taking the AK bus and connecting to the AKL bus. You will probibly need to leave by 4:10-4:15 to make it by 5:00....

Thank you very much for your suggestions. This forum is great for someone who feels a little overwhelmed by all the information needed to properly plan a WDW vacation.

I agree. If your going to spend the amount of money it costs to go to Disneyworld, why not do it right!? :confused3
