we currently have Harry Potter package so already have breakfast at LC for May. we may need to shorten our trip and I was wondering if I needed reservations for lunch or dinner and if it's too late to make them. Thanks

LC is a counter service place and does not take reservations for lunch or dinner.

Yea! This may actually be better We like breakfast but it was cutting into WWHP Time!

Three Broomsticks is really good too in Hogsmeade. They have a family feast that is hard to beat. If you want to make ressies for a good lunch somewhere else there is Mytho's in IOA and Lombards, Finnegan's in Universal. The rest are walk up counter service. I always make reservations for Mytho's. We are always there the last couple weeks of May and have noticed this time is getting a lot busier.

I will tell you last year there were a lot of hot unhappy people who stepped in for a short wait for lunch at Mytho's who were told there was a 2 hour wait for those without reservations.

We love Mytho's. Have always had good food and service there.

You can make reservations at some of the City Walk resturants also. Remember if you are staying onsite you have the perk of priority seating.

Enjoy your time at Universal pixiedust:

Thanks for the info. I really know nothing. Big planner for WDW but since we are staying onsite its seems like less of a necessity here. Now that we won't have big breakfast at Broomsticks and LC, lunch or dinner plans much more likely. We never get too hungry after big breakfast. I will be looking into Mythos!

There's a whole host of info on these boards........anything you're not sure of just ask.

Although Universal doesn't involve much planning, it can still be overwhelming going somewhere new for the first time.........

We never make reservations when we're at Universal and have never had to wait long. And we eat at peak times. Unless you go at Christmas, Easter or a major holiday it's usually not needed. Using priority seating is good, but sometimes if the wait is less than 30 minutes they don't always honour that perk.

If somewhere is busy......go somewhere else. But if you do have somewhere you really have to eat at, you can make same day reservations usually.

It's just seems so much easier than WDW! Which is a huge relief. I have to plan because my fibromyalgia requires a certain pacing on a trip. The Last two days ive spent planning how we are going to handle FP for a week 60 days from now. I think that's a bit crazy. I love Fp and I personally need to plan but there is something to be said for going on vacation and just being. With 5 of us and the cost of these trips it is too expensive not to be able to sit down and eat someplace nice without a reservation months in advance let alone get on a ride. That said I'm all booked Looking forward to the more laid back universal experience!

That's a tough one to cope with.............The fact that you're onsite will be a big help for you at Universal........everything is so close together and cosy almost.........

I'm sure you'll all have a blast.........
