I need major advice
I am in the beginning stage of planning a surprise mommy and son trip for my DS's 10th birthday next June. It will be a 4 nights/3days at POR. I do not care about the DDP as we will be trying to fit alot in our 3 days and will do CS.
My Problem: I really hate to spend rack rate if I don't have to.
In order to hopefully get a code before the trip should I book as a package or room only at first?
For packages, how much do you have money put down when booking? When is the rest due?
For room-only, is the deposit more than the first night's stay?
When room only codes are offered (IF they are offered) how much is the discount?
When booking thru AAA ,(which I know nothing about except I have to become a member) do you automatically get a discount? How much?
