Newbie to Orlando needs help with hotel

We will be staying on-site for our WDW vacation, however I have convinced the family to leave a day early( told them that it would be easier on me (DGM) since I will be doing the driving (12 hrs.) And they fell for it!!!! It was a ploy so that I can have an extra day in the World So we will be leaving around 11am, that should put me there around 12pm or so. Does anyone have a recommendation for a hotel VERY close to WDW? We will need 1 room with 2 double beds. I want to check out as early as I can rouse the troops up so that we can check in to our hotel at WDW an get into the park. DD and SIL will want a nice, clean, safe room. Any ideas? Please let me know

I say stay in DTD. try bidding on Priceline for resort room in WDW area - Hilton and Wyndham frequently purchase bids for $60 per night. That way you don't have far to go the next morning. Have a great vacation.

what are your dates? Courtyard marriot which is right by downtown disney is offering a 20 dollar a nite special on certain dates.

Or if it's a weeknight, DreamsUnlimited is offering the Courtyard at Downtown Disney for $39/night.
