I've tried to read as many posts to find my answers before deciding to ask in another post. Our family (Me, DH, DD7, DS5) will be traveling to HHI July 4-11 with another DVC family (they have 2 adults and 4 kids). We tried for the 3BR Villa, but had no luck. We did however manage to reserve a 1BR and a 2BR to accommodate the two families. We requested them to be close together - and I know about the "no guarantees" when requesting. Are there any 1BR and 2BR in a same building together? The CM we spoke with had no clue but made sure she noted our requests on the two ressies. If there are not 1BR and 2BRs in the same building - what would you suggest we request to be as close as possible together?

Also- I have read about the many "kid friendly" activities that they offer to sign up for. Are any of them free? I would imagine that "kids night out" would have a fee, but what about the other things? Also, how much for the activities? Just trying to plan ahead. :) TIA!

There are others that can answer this with 100% accuracy, but I'll answer the best I can. Most of the 1 BR are in the Lodge building and the building connected to it; however, there are a few 1BR under the GVs (I believe 5). It seems to me that the building with the GVs also have a 2BR in them as well. So I guess it is possible to get a 1BR and 2BR in the same building. IIRC, the doors won't be near each other, even if they are in the same building, but you might be able to see each other from the balconies.

Some activities have a fee while others do not. Generally, if you are making something to take with you or going somewhere with a guide - there will be a fee. If it's a short educational talk, ghost stories, bedtime stories, tour of the resort, campfire or Goofy Bingo - then there's not a charge. My family loves HH and I think it's a wonderful family vacation. I hope you do too!

One other thing - keep in mind the resort is very small and it's probably only an 8 minute walk from the two buildings that are the furthest apart. So even if you're not in the same building - you will still likely be very close.
