I am new to all the "lingo" and will need some clarification to "offer terminology".

I was looking at a resale offer for SSR for 150 pts. The seller then added that they had 58 pts coming on 6/1/08 and then 150 pts on 6/1/09.

What does the "extra pts" mean?? Is it extra points that will be available to buy at the listed date??

So in other words the original resale offer is for 150 pts initially and then I will have the ability to buy the 58 points on 6/1/08??

I was thinking that I would want around 200-215 pts, so I guess I could start with the 150 purchase and then add the 58 pts in June if I decided to buy.

If this is correct, with a resale will the extra points available on 6/1/08 be at the same value of the original 150 point purchase or will I have to go with the Newest points value to be determined?

Thanks!!

The 58 points that are coming on 6/1/08 are not "extra points". They are what is left after borrowing from the 2008 use year. You are still only buying a 150 point contract but from 06/1008 - 06/01/09 you will only have 58 points (unless you borrow from the following year).

Hope that made sense!!

Actually, I believe what it means is that they have already borrowed/used 92 points from the year commencing 6/1/08--so you only have 58 points left for the period 6/1/08 to 5/31/09. You would have to borrow yourself from your 2009 year to really be able to do much DVC wise during that time period and will always be "behind." Unless the amount per point is much less, I would be tempted to wait and buy a contract that wasn't "stripped" of its current year use points. I've also often seen contracts advertised where points from the prior year have been banked and you start out with double your normal allotment. I would look for one of those.

Not you are getting the 150 point contract, but the contract is just about stripped wich means that there is no points that is availible except for 58 that you would get in June instead of the 150.So it means that they have used all the points except the 58 left for 2008.You would not get your full 150 points till 2009.

How much Per point if you dont mind me asking?

This is a contract that has been partially "stripped" of its points. The 58 points on 6/1/08 means that the owner has borrowed and already used 92 of the points that were originally allocated to the 2008 use year. It appears that you would not get a full use year's allotmant until 2009. Of course, you could borrow points for a longer stay during the first year.

**oops, too slow...

The 58 extra points is left over from the previous use year. You won't have to pay extra for those. They come with your contract. Hope this helps!

OP - I saw just saw this one listed for sale on the Timeshare Store link above:

Saratoga Spring-$84/pt. February 220 $18,480.00 182
Notes: 402 points currently available (220 + 182 banked points from 2007) and 220 points coming on 2/1/09. Priced at $84 per point.

This is a good one! The contract is in the size range you said were looking for and it has a lot of points available for use NOW plus it's a good price per point for a contract that's actually usable now!:thumbsup2 Look for this kind of contract so you don't have to wait to use it or start out borrowing! I think sometimes they list the contracts that have been "stripped" at a lesser amount per point - but that's bcuz you can't use it for awhile...
