I am thinking of straying from Disney for 1 night (oh, no!!!) and staying at a Universal hotel. Kids are getting older-7 and 11 yr old girls. Is there such a thing as length of stay pass (like Disney) good from the time you check in until midnight of day you check out?? Or is there a certain ticket that I need to purchase. And by staying on-site, are we automatically elig for FOTL?? Would like to do Universal 1 day and IOA the next. Also, which hotel would you recommend. Thanks for all of your help. Sue

I think it would be more expensive to book your hotel and park tickets together, but you could price it out and see. If not, you could get the two day/two park pass for $99.95 adult and $88.95 kids - or if you have a fan club card you could get the five day Kraft offer for $81.95 - that would be the best deal. Even though it gives you five consecutive days, it is much cheaper that the two day pass.

You will have FOTL from the morning you check in, until park close of the day you check out.

We have stayed at the Royal Pacific and the Hard Rock and loved them both. The Hard Rock may be better with kids because of the fun theme and it is really close to the parks (although both are in walking distance). However, if you love the tropical theme, RPR does it wonderful and it is beautiful, though the rooms are a bit smaller. Have fun, I think you will love it!!

We have stayed at Portofino and Royal Pacific. Both are wonderful...we like Royal Pacific a bit better than Portofino...mainly because we receive much better service at RPR.

You will love any resort you choose at Universal..they are all equivalent to disney deluxe resorts..for around 1/2 the price.

Front of the line access is the best...you will need a room key for each member of your family, so all have to be listed at check in.

Perfect example of why Disney is losing attendance. It's a kiddie park. Sure, kids still enjoy going to Disney, but once they reach the age of 8 and make the height requirements, it's over, IOA wins.
