Hello All:

I am new to this DVC rental and Disney as well and am looking for some help. I am planning on taking my family (two small kids 5 and 2.5 at time of trip) to Disney from Monday November 29, 2004 through Monday December 6th (although we are somewhat flexible around those dates). I have reviewed a number of the postings here and it seems like renting points is the way to go for me--at least until we join DVC directly--but we should probably try the place out first. In any event, I was hoping someone could offer advice as far as where to stay as between BCV, BWV or Wilderness Lodge. It seems that points are the same for a studio. My concerns are proximity to the Magic Kingdom (as this is where we will probably spend most of or time) and ease of transportation, as well as things to do when not in one of the parks--I imagine we will need one "off" day to recuperate!! We would also be looking to rent points for that time as well--I believe total would be 104 points. Thanks for the help in advance!!

Nick

Hi Nick-

You will be really happy that you are staying on points. Watch out though, that is how we made the decision to buy DVC!

I was there in January (BWV) with my family and the ages were 2.5 and 6, so similar to yours. We absolutely loved BWV, but my 6yo really liked the looks of Stormalong Bay at BCV. We couldn't pool hop there, because it is not allowed (although you could stay at BCV and pool hop over to the BWV). So, we bought at SSR while we there and bought a resale at BCV when we got home.

There is a lot to do at the Boardwalk for all ages. As far as distance to MK though, BCV and BWV are a horse apiece and VWL is much closer. It kind of depends on which would be your priority- distance or activities. The VWL has a direct boat to the MK, whereas at the other two, you would need to take a bus if you don't have a car. If you have a car- parking at the parks will be free because you are staying on-site, and we actually found it very convenient. We did walk to MGM and to Epcot from the BWV though.

Hope this is helpful. I may have points available if you need them, let me know!

Availability is going to be the deciding factor on where you stay.
OKW probably has space but I doubt if there is much available at BCV or VWL. BW is larger bur also very popular.
