Newbie rv camping questions

I love to camp, and I am considering a trip to FW. Is there many really old rvs at the sites? How do those who end up parking next to them feel about it? Would you be upset parking next to the "Griswalds".

I wouldn't feel bad at all! I am just too excited to be at WDW to let that bother me. Besides, many of us started out camping in tents. Being at Disney World is all about magic.

I have a brand new camper. I love my camper and I love being in Disney. The person parked next to me had a very old Winnie. It was the basic brown color along with rust. They were the nicest people one could ever hope to meet and they were having just as much fun in their old camper as we were in our new. Does it bother me? Not in the least little bit. We were all there doing the same thing, having fun! Life is too short to worry about what other people have or what they are doing. I say buy what you and your family can afford and let the memories begin. Remember this, when the children are grown and gone, they will remember the fun but not the condition of the camper. I know I camped with my parents at FW growing up, but don't remember if it was an "old" camper or "new" camper. The memories aren't of the camper, just spending time with my parents.

It wouldn't bother us at all. The age of the camper does not reflect how nice the people are inside.

I don't care what kind of camper or "dream machine" is parked next to mine as long as their sewage is hooked up right!
Seriously, we have a new camper but look like country coming to town. I have learned to run a fan and it drowns out the noise so the kids can go to sleep so even loud neighbors don't bother us!

I like what I am hearing!

We have an antique class A rv that we use on occasional trips to the coast. Since we have a lake home, we really don't want to spend much money on an RV that only gets used once or twice a year. I am seriously thinking about grabing another couple some time and making a run to WDW. Even with flying and a value being the same price, I think the road trip with friends, and camping, would be more fun.

The only thing stopping me is the fear that when we pull up, it will scare the heck out the the guys next door to us.


Are you allowed to bring your own golf cart or do you have to rent one there?

Sure you can bring your own cart! I highly recommend it unless you need to tow a car for some reason.

I bring my own golf cart on long trips but rent one on shorter trips. We have a fifth wheel so I can't throw it in the back of the truck any longer like I did with the travel trailer. It would cost more in gas money for a second vehicle than it would to rent one. You still have to follow the same rules, renting one or bringing your own.

At FW more then most parks, the campers are hiden, so you really only see the closest couple of campers anyway.Get a bumper sticker that say my other car is a rolls-royce or something.

Tents, popups old or new rvs - people who camp are by nature social beings. it is the people, not the rig that count! Hope your trip is everything you dream
