Hi,

I just rented a studio for 5 days from Aug 29th thru Sept 3rd at SSR just wondering about the maid service, and if I do not get maid service can you take you dirty towels somewhere are recieve clean ones. What about the garbage is there new garbage bags and places to take your garbage to. Maybe I am better off getting a couple of days of maid service???? Also has anyone stayed in the Studio's at SSR, if so how did ya like it??

On September 1st, you will get trash and towel service. If you feel the need to wash towels before or after that, there are free washers and dryers availble. The garbage containers all have extra bags in the bottom, so if you empty the garbage, you will have new bags right there. I always find it refreshing not to have maids tramping in and out.

Okay..at all DVC's points stays work like this:

If staying less than 8 nights, you will get trash-n-towel service on day 4 (which means no daily mousekeeping and on the 4th day of your stay they will come and empty the trash cans, give you fresh towels and replenish supplies like toilet paper, tissues and such). If you need your towels washed and you're staying in a studio, you can use the laundry facilities in the resorts for free you just need to bring your own detergent(Tide tablets travel well) or you can buy detergent in the gift shops or nearby grocery stores off sight. If in a 1bdrm or larger, you'll have a washer and dryer right in your villa. You can get an extra towel pack if you wish for a fee of $6 per pack for 4 people (I believe) which includes bath towels, hand towels, wash clothes and bath mats for 4. But why buy them when you can wash them for free (JMO). You can also get daily maid service for a fee per day of around $25 per day for a studio? Not sure if that's the exact price.....someone will post and clarify though I'm sure;) But again, I personnally wouldn't want to pay for it...and don't really care for having the maids banging on the door in the morning to get in to clean.

If your stay is more than 8 nights, you'll get a full cleaning on day 4 (Trash-n-towel, plus they'll vacume, dust and change out bedsheets) and then Trash-n-towel on day 8 and the cycle repeats every 4 days.

As for garbage bags, there are usually extra's underneith the bag already in the trash baskets - if not, just call housekeeping and they'll bring you extra's. There are trash closets to empty them in the resorts.

Haven't stayed at SSR yet but have stayed in studio's at OKW,BCV's,VB and they're all great....I'm sure you'll love it. :)

HTH's and have a great trip!

Just to add to this question - they do a complete housekeeping (changing linens, etc) before you check in though right? Not just every so many days, even if there is a change in who is in there? I would think so, but the answers to this question even from my guide are pretty sketchy....he just said the every few days thing, which kinda made me wonder.

Yes, when you check in you are starting fresh with a clean villa. All fresh sheets & towels and empty trash cans, etc. ;) You just won't have housekeeping/maid service of any kind until day 4 (unless you either pay for extra days or change the housekeeping schedule for them to come on a different day). But you start out with everything all clean and fresh. :flower:

BTW, "hotel" guests (those who aren't DVC members but are paying directly for the room each night) get full maid service every day.
