I'm planning my first trip to Disney World. And I'm hoping you guys can answer a few random questions!

I'm going with my sister (we will be 26 and 24). We will be arriving 27th of September and leaving 1st of October (I thought this was plenty of time but since reading these boards I'm not so sure!) We are staying at the POFQ, will have park hoppers but will be going to universal for one day - mainly to see Harry Potter World (as i like to call it!)

My questions are:
- We are flying in from Germany (we are Aussies but are starting our trip at Oktoberfest) and we are flying Lufthansa. When I tried to register for the ME, Lufthansa wasn't a recognized airline. What do I do?
- With tickets - do they send them to us or do we pick them up from POFQ?

I think that's it for now! I can't stop reading these boards so I'm sure I'll have more questions later!

:welcome: to the Boards Lorryx3 and welcome to the sickness known as Dis-sing! Sounds like you and your sister have a great trip planned and I wish you all the best with your planning.

I assume that you have purchased your park hopper tix as part of the resort accommodation PACKAGE through Disney. If this is the case, then when you check in at POFQ, you will be provided with a card, called the Key To The World. One for you and one for your sister.
This KTTW will contain:
  • your room access
  • your park hopper tickets
  • Disney will provide you with the option for a credit limit on the card
  • Dining plan credits (if you purchased the dining plan)

For ME - I would call Disney up and book yourself on ME. ME is a service provided for all resort guests staying on a Disney resort.
As an International Traveller, you and your sister will need to pick up your own luggage and clear customs (assuming this is your first port into the US) anyway. Once you pick up your bags, just make your way to the ME in MCO, check in and get in line with your bags. When you get to your bus, your bus driver will tell you where to leave your bags. He will load your bags on the bus you're travelling on. When you get to POFQ, the driver will unload the bags and you will need to wheel them with you to your room (or ask concierge for help).

When you leave, you will need to self-check your bags on the bus and check them in at MCO on the airline you're leaving on; rather than using Disney bag check service at the resort.

The recognised airlines just mean that you get your bags tagged and delivered to your room, within 4 hours of your arrival.

Hope this helps.

Just adding we're at POFQ arriving a few days before but departing same day!

Hi,

Welcome to the boards. Have you looked at your dinning options yet and whether you want to book any sit down meals? You will need to book popular venues ASAP. This was probably one of the best tips I got from the boards.

Welcome to the boards! :wave2:
PrincessInOz has explained it all perfectly :)
You will have a wonderful trip...happy planning!
