Newbie questions...

I don't even know for sure if we're having a Disney wedding, but I have some questions:

Do we have to book our room/tickets through Disney or can we book ourselves through someone else? What about our guests' rooms?

Are you allowed to bring your own additional champagne to the reception or do you have to purchase extra bottles through Disney?

Is an in-person planning session required? DF doesn't fly and I don't know that we could get the time off to drive all the way down there for just one day.

Hi, I'll try to answer your questions!

You can book your rooms/tickets through any source, when you call DFTW, they will ask for your reservation confirmation/code to be sure you are staying at a Disney owned and operated resort for the 4 night minimum.

Your guests can make reservations the same way, I believe. It won't really matter if you are having an intimate wedding. For a custom (where there is a minimum room-night guarantee), I believe you can just provide your EM/WP with reservation confirmation numbers.

I'm pretty sure you will not be allowed to bring any outside alcholic beverages or food. You can ask your EM/WP to be sure...but I believe it's a licensing/health code issue.

An in-person planning session is NOT required! Again, if you are having an intimate, a planning session is not included. For a custom wedding, you don't have to have one. The Disney planners know their stuff, and as long as you are clear with what you want you won't need to make additional trips to Florida.

I have a feeling you ARE allowed to bring your own bottles to the reception, for Custom weddings, but Disney will charge you an arm and a leg for corkage that you may as well have just ordered through them. Am I imagining this or can someone verify for me LOL
