Hi everyone!
This is my first time posting in this forum, but I was hoping you guys could help me out.
We have a trip booked for the Wilderness Lodge on Dec 04 -10... Since it's so close to Fort Wilderness, my in-laws decided that they might like to join us, but would prefer to drive down in their camper and stay at the Fort instead. I just looked online and it's showing the only available sites are for Tents or Pop-Ups.

Do all of the campsites really book up this far in advance? We have no experience with Fort Wilderness so I was surprised to see this... Any chance that spots may open up later?

This is the first trip that they will be joining us on, and while I've tried to explain that things need to be booked in advance, they don't really seem to be "getting it". They haven't thought about any other resort options and if I know them, they'll look for another campground off-site instead of a resort on-site, and that will really make plans difficult. I'm hoping the Disney website is wrong and there will be some openings!

Any help or advice? Thanks!

Keep trying, that time of the year usually isn't very busy.
I would be very surprised if you couldn't get what type of site you need

Make a call to reservations.....many times they have better access to availability. I've had to call a few times over the years, they always have taken care of it. Great time of the year to go. Best of luck.............enjoy

Neat time to be there.

Call. Call again the next day. And keep calling each day till you get a reservation.

We always book as soon as we are able and the Fort is crazy popular. So popular they are almost never included in any seasonal discount. That said other people will change their plans and openings will come up.

Yes it is crazy to say, but most of the time sites are booked up to a year in advance. Especially around the holidays, but days always open up as they get closer and people can't go or their plans change.

Even if you don't get the dates, keep checking back. If you get a "Partial" date, you should take it. Again as others have said, keep checking particularly when you hit the 60 day mark. Other peoples plans will inevitably change and they will cancel their reservations (making them open again) and you can "Piece" things together if necessary.

As soon as we have an "inclining" that we are going to go, we book it. Right now we are booked for August 2016, November 2016 and April of 2017. As much as I would like to go on each of those dates, I am not sure we will make them all. Costs are a big factor. Mostly traveling and food costs (in the park). We are hoping to get the AP in August which will make the other dates much easier for us. Anyway, the point is, is YES it does book up and you really do need to book well in advance, however, there is hope as many slots open up the closer you get.

Good luck in whatever happens and enjoy your trip.

Thank you, everyone, for all of the advice! We all appreciate it!
I'll keep checking back and hopefully they can snag the spot they want on the dates they need.
I'm really looking forward to exploring all of the fun there at the Fort!
