Newbie questions-BCV Oct UY

It seems like it's taken forever, but we've just wired funds and will close sometime this month.

We'll be getting 11 points for the current UY - is this considered a transfer? Most likely we'll have to scramble to bank them in time. If we bank them, how long will we have to use them before we lose them?

We don't plan to travel to WDW until Oct. 2009. I know BCV is very busy then due to the Food and Wine festival - with the 11 month window, do you think it will still be necessary to make day by day reservations? (Worst case we can shift the ressie back to September if necessary and still be ahead of those folks who have to wait for the 7 month window although my DD REALLY wants to celebrate her birthday there in Oct.)

With an Oct UY, will we a) be able to use our 2008 points for this Oct '09 trip and borrow the extra we need from our 2009 points or b) will we need to bank them and dip into our 2009 points?

Bank your 11 2007 points, it is not a transfer. You have to use them by September 30th 2009 or you lose them. On October 1, 2008 you will get more points, you can bank them into 2009. For your vacation in 2009 you will have your banked 2008 points and your 2009 points. If you need more, you can borrow from 2010.

The availability depends on the type of room and other factors. Your best bet might be day by day.

This will be our 2nd year going to BCV during Oct. First year I did day by day for 2bd with 2 queens in 2nd bd. We were going during birthday's and halloween so dates were important to me. I'm not sure if I had to..

This year I just booked a 2 bdroom not day by day..It was probably 10 months before...Then I switched it to a 1 bdr about about 9 months..again no problem.

It doesn't hurt to do day by day if you really want specific accomodations and dates.
