newbie question???

o.k. I know this is strictly a newbie question but what does Bump mean, sometimes I see a post and it says nothing more than bump. Question #2- how do you keep a thread "alive"?? thanks for your help

Question #2 is the answer to Question #1.

A "Bump" moves the post up on the page if it gets no replies or needs to be brought "alive" again.
