Hello! We are new to DVC, just purchased this week. As part of our signing deal we got 160 bonus points to use at SSR within 12 months. Our guide said we could use it at any of the other non-Disney destinations too, and we want to use it for Marriott's OceanWatch Villa's in Myrtle Beach. How far in advance can those reservations be made?
Thanks in advance.
Lesley

Oh, I hope you didn't purchase merely on the fact that you can book other non-DVC and non-Disney vacations. You may be very disappointed.

You'll have to wait until someone from that resort decides that they want to book a Disney/DVC vacation and puts in a trade for their resort. You will have to contact MS to have them put you on a list to try to get that resort, if it is one that is available through II.

If this fact is very disappointing to you, you may still be able to cancel your DVC membership and purchase a Marriott one instead.

Hi,

I think it will be cheaper for you to rent from a Marriot timeshare owner than to use your DVC points. I think you need 160 DVC points just to exchange for a 1 bedroom .

Marriott Oceanwatch only has 2 bedrooms and if you want to go in the summer it will be next to impossible. The resort is still under construction and there aren't a whole lot of owners trading out yet.
