Hey all,

Can some explain to me (like I am a 4th grader because this DVC stuff is frying my brain) why the month of the USE YEAR is important? Is it important? Can someone give me a scenario where it is important?

Thanks,
NJ

UY is not very important in one sense of the word. The start of the UY is when you get a new alotment of points and also will dictate when you can bank. The new rule is that you will have to bank 4 months prior to your UY. Now comes the but, some that travel at specific times every year like to have a UY that immediately precedes the vacation. Therefore if something happens where you need to change plans you have the time to do so. Example being.....say your a teacher and travel in the summer only......a UY of June would work nice.......because if you travel in July and have an August UY and something happens you could have points that may miss the banking window, in holding, or may expire. Personally I do not find UY matters at all. We travel whenever we can, we prefer March and November........

so if vacation plans are either summer/easter/ txgvng/xmas newyear- the best UY month would be August?

The down side is travel Jan thru July, these months are past the banking window and a cancellation could me points either in holding or will expire. But proper planning makes this go away.....pretty much. With the new banking rule in place it gives a person with a Aug to the end of March to bank.

See it happened again. Every year I start thinking about DVC. Start reading about DVC and then get confused about DVC,lol!

So if you have a trip planned for june and plans change in April can you cancel?
