Newbie question re: cash + points ressie

We just joined DVC through resale(SSR)and added on immediately(AKV) after due to the current incentives, and are trying to make reservations for our first trip home in 7/08. We have banked points from our resale contract and developer points from our add on through Disney. We will also be traveling with another family( not members) who will be paying cash.We will be booking a 2 bdrm for our family and another 2 bdrm for the other family and will have some extra points that we plan to share with our friends. Their resevation will be partly on points and partly cash. When I called member services, the lady said I could only make one reservation per member, ie I could not reserve two rooms for the same timeframe under our name. How can I let our friends use our points? Also, if their reservation is part cash and part points, will they be able to stay in the same room the entire week or would they possibly have change rooms as they will have two separate reservations? Also, do members get any kind of discount when booking a cash ressie?Thanks in advance.

You can book two rooms but I'm guessing that MS meant that only one room could be in your name and you'd have to put the other into your friend's name. You can book a whole bunch of rooms if you have the points. Members get a 25% discount based on availability. You can combine the cash and point reservation but you would have to be the one to do it.

According to the rules, members are to occupy the room to get the 25% cash discount.
