Newbie question, how many points do you have?

HA, I guess I need another cup of coffee this morning. I answered the poll indicating we had 150-225, when in fact we have 363.

When we originally joined we sat down with our guide and bought exactly how many points we would need. Our vacations are set, so the time does not vary. We had no children, so would only need studios.

Our first contract was at SSR for 313 points. Looking back and understanding the system a little better, I wished we had bought two 150 point contracts. But no big deal.

Prior to taking our first trip home we bought a 50 point add on at BW. I had never understood why someone would want such a small contract, but then I read on the boards you bank/borrow and you can stay on that small contract every other year.

We have stayed once at BW and loved the fact that you were within walking distance of EPCOT and MGM.

You need to sit down and decide what is right for you.

First time posting on this board. But I love the threads. We have been a DVC member since 93. DH & I have 275 at OKW.

We now have 295 after doing our 120 add-on this past month.

We just joined last year and already wanted more!!

Make sure you go through the books / charts and figure out when you will probably stay and about how long. We didn't really do that, just figured we could borrow a little here, there, but now realized that we didn't want to keep borrowing... we wanted to be able to stay a week every year.

I feel so blessed to be able to own DVC and we love our home SSR.

We originally started with 270 at BCV because that was enough for a 1-bedroom for a week during most seasons. We figured that was enough. Then, we had another child (the mother of our other two adopted children had another baby, so we adopted her too) and 1-bedrooms weren't going to be big enough anymore, so we did an add-on of 200 at SSR. Oh, but of course that wasn't enough so we did another 130 point add-on at SSR to get to a nice even 600. That (he says hopefully) is enough.

But, as others have said, it's not how many points you own it's the great vacations and wonderful memories you create for yourself and your family.

500 for us, 400 at the BWV in 3 contracts and 100 at the BCV. I am jealous of Bongo59, that's how many I wish I had. It is addictive, but the best purchase we have ever made.

We currently have 200, which has been plenty so far since we've only gone every other year due to having babies, moving, etc. We'll probably add on another 200 point contract in the next couple of years since we want to eventually have a contract to give to each child. The big decision will be which resort for the new contract

We have 200 points at SSR. I will use the force of the Hanname to get my husband to agree to add on 100 at BCV and posibbly 100 at OKW. We've been to SSR twice in a 1br for 5 days during magic season. We will be staying in a 2 br for 5 night at okw this Dec. I want the other points so that we can get into the BCV more easily and the elusive GV's at OKW.
