How do you know when the discounts are announced right away? Do you keep checking the disney website? Or is there like an official announcement channel? We are planning for dec15th, what are our odds of getting some sort of a discount? Thanks!

Welcome to the Dis :welcome:

I would keep an eye out here as rumors usually start circulating here on the boards a few weeks prior to discounts being released, including what the discount might entail as well as the date it will be released. I think your chances are good that a discount will be available for mid-December, however, it's hard to say for sure as Disney has been scaling back on discounts/dates lately. Here is a link from mouse savers that shows discounts for the last couple of years, including what the dates were and when they came out:

HTH :).

Disney to my knowledge does not offer free dining as an incentive durning the month of December, particular so close to Christmas Eve/Day. Just a heads up.

Not sure about this year but we have had FD over Christmas the last 3 years. Last year we checked in 12/22 for 14 nights of free dining. Here are the dates for the past few years

Thanks a lot! I'm thinking of booking the room and tickets now and hope for free dining :)

Many believe that Disney is taking a look at bookings. If you really want a discount I would recommend not booking till you get a discount. Ask the question, why would Disney discount a room that is already booked?? Just something to think about

If we wait for the discounts to be announced, won't we miss the 180 days ADR? That's the main reason I wanted to book early. I wish they would just announced it already! :confused3:

You can still book dining at 180 days out. You'd just have to book one day at a time instead of being able to book 10 days in a row on your first day.

If you're going regardless of a discount, I'd book.

If we missed the discount dates by one night, can we call to add that night too to get free dining? It would still end up cheaper according to my calculation.

So you can book dining reservations without having a package booked??

You can book dining reservations without having anything at all booked. The benefit to being on property is that you can book your whole stay of dining at the 180 day marker. Without anything booked you'd just need to book 1 day at a time once you're at 180 days.
