Newbie Question concerning Castaway club

We were on our first Disney cruise last Feb. and had a blast! We are in the process of planning our next Disney cruise and I was wondering what is a Castaway Club Member? How do you become one? What are the benefits of being a member?

There arent too many perks but there are a few. One is that you get to check in on the CC line which I recently found out was a blessing. It cut over an hour or more off my wait time. Another perk, is a towel and 2 pins per stateroom for CC members. There is a captains meet where you eat and mingle. CC members are generally automatic after your first cruise but you need to definitely call the Disney Cruise Line to make sure they have you as one.

Once you have cruised Disney you "are" a Castaway Club member. As already posted you get a different check-in line, a small gift when you next cruise (towel, bag, etc.), and can attend a free reception with captain and staff. You should get a letter in the mail with your club number. When you make future reservations, tell them you are a CC member, though they can look it up based on your address. It's a nice deal, and at no extra charge.

Yep, once your cruise, you are automatically a CC member. We never got a letter in the mail, but we called DCL and they gave us our numbers over the phone for when we booked next. (hubby and I each have our own CC number, automatically, still only one gift though..lol)
