newbie question about hostess

Hi,
I have been reading the post and was curious of some ideas of gifts that people may have sent to the hostess for holding the swap. Just curious. Thanks!

I am not sure what you are asking- anyone is welcome to suggest swaps- you can post in the calandar or satrt a thread with an idea. Many times before a swap starts a hostess will post an idea and interest thread and you can add any specific ideas for a swap there. You are also welcome to pm a hostess if you have a specific idea for something to be added to a swap.

If you are interested in hostessing- I suggest joining a few swaps before doing so- we have had some new people hostess and disappear in the past so in general we go with those that have been participating and sending things on time with good communication- not that we have a rule on who is allowed to hostess a swap- just many people are wary of brand new people hostessing.

If you mean the hostess gifts, those are optional. Although I don't know a single one of who would turn down the gracious offerings. I love surprises.
Anything from an extra set from a group the hostess is not in, extra items to match a group, ribbon/fiber, stickers, brads, stamps, paper, items to be altered, mini-kits, card kits, and my personal favorite - adhesive. Seriously, when can you not use more adhesive.

But honestly, I don't make a list of those who do and those who don't send a hostess gift. I think I do a good job swapping out everyone's item without playing favorites.

And I confess to forgetting to send a gift myself to a hostesses sometimes. I always buy something, but I have forgotten to put in the box.

thank you, sorry for my confusing post- I was looking for thoughts/comments on gifts for a hostess. I'm not ready to host anything yet.....I had a few ideas but was curious to what others may have given in the past. thank you!!!

I'm so embarrassed. In my haste to make sure everything was done and sent on time.....I forgot all about hostess gifts. Please don't hold that against me. I'll try to make up for it in the future.

You don't have to send a hostess gift and not everyone does. It's nice to receive one, but it's not necessary. I don't make a note of who sent a gift and who didn't and it doesn't create favorites.
