Newbie!-question about event manager!

Hi DIS Brides!

This is my absolute first post ever! I've been following these boards for a couple of years now, but never had the guts to actually ask for advice- guess I'm your classic lurker - although I've been super close to posting on various occasions, but now, I'm like what the heck, just throw yourself in there. (my older sister who's occasionally on the boards, Sarhenty, also encouraged me)

Just have one word about you all that give DFTW advice: AMAZING!!!

Everyone is so exceptionally helpful so I just want to say MANY THANKS!!!

Here's a question I've been dying to ask for some time:
I have about 5 months to go until my DFTW, & my EM, Carol M. (so VERY NICE, by the way) mentioned that she would be a step ahead of me during the wedding. Does this mean that I won't see much of her?
Randy Chapman will be our Photographer & I've read that he usually helps with guiding couples along during the big day - but are we expected to know exactly what to do at every moment?

This is probably a vague question, SORRY!!! but sometimes I can be forgetful when nervous. I'm beginning to feel like I am going to screw up the day for my guests (especially because most of them are at a loss about the whole Disney thing) and that I'll forget about the important details!

I'd really appreciate any advice!!!

I really think your EM meant she will make sure everything runs smoothly. She will be there for you the whole time, I'm sure.

With Randy. He has done so many weddings her really knows how to do things and help them. He is a great person to have. Very calming.

GL with the rest of your planning and ask anything you would like. Everyone here is very helpful.

I agree...she'll be there the whole day and she will make sure you and your guests are in the appropriate places at the appropriate time. She was my sisters EM and she was great! My sister did not worry about a thing the entire day! Good luck! And congrats on your engagement by the way

I think what you've been hearing is that several of the Intimate brides on the DIS were not given very much info on the order of events for their wedding day, and that Randy Chapman stepped in to show them what to do. Also, many of them have had someone other than their EM show up on the actual day, which would be unnerving to say the least! But it sounds like you got a good one....

This is why the Boards are so great - we can learn from each other what to expect and be that much more prepared!

Sounds great!! I love Ariels. It's cute in there plus I love the Yacht and Beach Club. They are great resorts

Some planner work differently than others. I wouldn't worry because normally they have assistants that work with them so they are telling you what to do as well. My planner did mention that she would be in different places at different times!
